A guy and I meet in january of 97 outside of a grocery store. Duncan Sheik had his first album out the year before. This guy and I found that we loved a lot his music. Obviously we fall in love, but because circumstances of the life we had to separate. We saw each other again 20 years later and in october of 2022 get married and guess wich song was our wedding song? You're right! This one! Because even we were a couple of teenagers, we always felt safe and secure in the arms of the other "feels like I'm home". He surprised me at the wedding with a girl singing live our song, diferent but beautifully.

This song never fails to make a few tears well up in my eyes. It is so honest, so loving. so real. "I am with you, no longer alone, when I'm with you, it feels like I'm home." Words unabashedly romantic, for sure, but never syrupy. For those of us lucky enough to know true love, this song will always remind us of such beauty.

This entire album brings back so many memories. I used to listen to it all the time. God I think I was maybe 13-14 years old listening to him. Love Duncan! And I love how he was in the movie Uptown Girls with Brittany Murphy.

I love this lesser known Duncan Sheik song. This was our wedding song almost 12 years ago today. For our anniversary my husband took me to see Duncan at the West Hampton Beach Performing Arts Center last week where we got to meet Duncan, have our picture taken with him, and have him sign the DC with this song on it. PERFECT!

This incredible artist is so absolutely underappreciated and not given his due credit. I got the chance to do a meet and greet in Birmingham AL with him where there was about 10 other people. The guy spent 2 hours talking to his fans. I fanboyed a little to begin with because he is a musical hero of mine. After I gushed about him as a writer and guitarist and in my opinion up there with Simon and Wilson(his touring drummer said Jesus don't tell him that his heads really going to swell) I calmed down a bit and really felt as if he was a friend by the end. He's just a really good person and you hardly get to meet your idols and it live up to expectations but he was awesome.

Brett Cruise Mate, think for another point of view. Maybe if he was so famous, he wouldn’t spend 2 hours with fans. I like the way he is, not so famous, this can make him special for those who like and admire his work.

I met him in St Louis around 1998-ish - I feel like it was part of a multi-act concert, maybe at Mississippi Nights. He put on a great show and was super nice.

I'm so glad to find this site. I love Duncan's music. I first heard it 1998. My first CD of his was stolen by an ex. His music is difficult to find. If anyone knows where you can find it please let me know. I'd like to get it all. His music reaches me in places not even my therapist can...my soul. Maybe that's why it touches me so much and when I quite often cry when I hear many of his song's.

anyone here knows what tuning is Duncan using here? The original song is on standard tuning with capo on the 3rd fret, but it is not that way in this version! (I play-backed to it and it sounds awful)

Standard tuning with capo on 2nd fret will get you close, but it's a little off. Most likely Duncan tuned by ear and got all the strings in relative tune, but slightly off of concert pitch.
