I like what you said about emotion being the primary factor. How you feel jealousy and use that to fuel the creation of your reasoning for why jealousy is the appropriate emotion in that moment. I've always felt that that's how dreams are formed -- there's some kind of pent-up emotion inside of you that leaks out during sleep, and your brain constructs a dream narrative around that emotion. As opposed to your emotions reacting to the dream.

43:14-you described the place you are on your path as I feel like, “I’m just a little bit leas of a cun1.” That was insightful and led me to describe where I am now, what came to my mind, “I’m feeling a lot less , sticky.” And I love how perfectly and simply put, not easier or better than I was before meditation and loving kindness meta karma easy going always perfectly responding in harmony with every moment that comes my way. I am much more equipped than I was 5 years ago and even yesterday. And I have no idea what I’m doing or where I’m going to. Thankfully I have a great taste for spiritual teachers and I can trust my gut. Circumstances in life are tough but also so beautiful and worth all of it❤. Just be, just be here now.❤

Duncan seems better at beating himself up over the smallest of internal transgressions than even me.. and I watch enlightenment videos on KZbin all the time.
@ChopesForever6 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately just because we are taking in all these enlightening medias whether it be videos, audio, books or whatever, it is about how we use what we have learned and if we have no actionable strategies to use what we have learned to better ourselves then we are just doomed to repeat the failures of our past.
@jmactizzle6 жыл бұрын
@@ChopesForever Is there a KZbin video on that?
@ChopesForever6 жыл бұрын
@@jmactizzle lol there are hundreds, just like the ones you have already watched. It takes conscious effort on your part, being aware of yourself at all times and keeping in mind all this knowledge and wisdom that has been passed down to you. Life could be so much more for everybody if we just stopped taking the easy route. Be in the moment, be honest with yourself and with other people.
@jmactizzle6 жыл бұрын
@@ChopesForever I might have to look into that some time.. sounds like a whole buncha stuff though
@ChopesForever6 жыл бұрын
@@jmactizzle that sounds like avoidance of truthfulness. Your initial comment was almost praising Duncan of his ability to self depricate, I am assuming because you find that trait virtuous. If you want to have similiar humility in life it isn't one of those "might have to look at it sometimes" things, it's one of those things in yourself that can be addressed every minute of every day until it becomes second nature, as is Duncan's case. Until you decide to face your life, life will control you and your actions, you will not control your life. If you are looking for education in this area I suggest watching more Jordan Peterson and Jocko Willink. They encourage facing the difficulties in your life not shying away from them, acting in absolute responsibility and ownership for all things you do and don't do.

Want a series where Duncan instructs Jordan Peterson in applications of Buddhism, meditation, thoughts on immortality, eternal recurrence, Gurdjieff, other dimensions, is "western Christianity" a sandbox within some larger whole/drama/dharma? Stuff like that. Rogan to act as moderator/straight meathead.
@mathewhill55566 жыл бұрын
Jordan Peterson already has a fairly deep understanding of Buddhism. If you read his book "Maps of Meaning" he goes through the ancient Vedic tradition, and contemporary Buddhist philosophy. Showing correlation between the buddhist/vedic stories, the Dao, the concept of crucifixion, the Mesopotemian enuma elish, and how those all relate to you as an individual.

Annoying how people just can't fuckinh get the translations of Buddhism right.tThen we westerners quoting shit that doesnt even mean what they think it means. When buddha said "Life is suffering", that's actually a big misnomer that's turned into complete bullshit.. life is Dukkha, but incorrectly translated as suffering probably because westerns can't let go of their ideology projected unto eastern thoughts and concepts. "Dukkha" is closer trnslated to something not sattsfying, annoyance, never is enough sort of thing. So please fuckinh regurgitsting that buddha said life is suffering when he actually fucking said life isnt satisfying.
