TBH, not surprised how toxic it has become. Been a fan since Teardrops on debut, but Red and reputation were definitely some of the key turning points where a lot of newer fans became personally attached to go after people who wronged Taylor in a way. Midnights and The Eras Tour's Ticketmaster screwup definitely made the fandom a lot more omnipresent than, at times, Taylor herself and the music she puts out.
