you said you used m10 bolts in the front on the napoleon hat. Arent they the same size bolts as the rear channel? Im picking up a rolling chassis without pans but with trans and body thats not attached for a great price to finish my dune buggy and I need to grab bolts for the body to bolt to the front and rear chassis so I can move it flat towed. I have the bolts somewhere for the original body from my shortened chassis but theyre buried. Can you help

On a standard beetle they should be the same size all around. However due to the body lift the holes on this were drilled a different size and I had to use the M10’s.

@@mikehitchings4948 awesome. Love your restoration of the Manx by the way. I'm working on a genuine Berry Mini T rebuild! Hope to have it done by summer

How did you get the napoleon hat to sit flush? Mine does not
@Mikeyworks7 ай бұрын
I think it ultimately comes down to tolerances between the lift and the napoleon hat. Mine did generally fit, but I had to give it a few gentle "pushes" to get it to fit. It does flex a bit. Ultimately I decided to take the lift back off and not use it...I didn't like the way it made the body sit on the car.

Since you're editing this video, you don't have to say, "I'll bring you guys back" every time you cut.

Are you going to weld it to the pan?
@Mikeyworks Жыл бұрын
Probably not. I may want to remove it later. I believe I can get the same strength just bolting it between the pans and body. I’ll see how it does and maybe add some tack welds.

what are those 4 round spacers next to the box for
@Mikeyworks Жыл бұрын
I am not sure. I think they may be for managing flex, but they don’t fit into the channels. I’ll do some digging.

Thank you for getting back to me I appreciate it

@@richgenovese5502 You must place the spacers in the front and in the rear. Under the nose and under the supports for the chassis at the rear.
