Man I kept wondering why you would opt out of positive resolutions at the landsraad until I realized you actually GAIN influence doing that! I never knew you could do this. The game really should tell you about this in the tooltip when you select your counselor.

Its a relatively new change to an older mechanic that may have just never made its way to proper tooltips. Ibbo Vipp the councilor allows you to spend 20 laands standing to become immune to a negative effect, OR allows you to gain 10 influence by gracefully withdrawing from a positive effect.

I think withdrawing from the +100% share price thing does make you immune to the resolution, it's just considered a buff for some reason

Yes I confused myself. I was looking for "immune to bad thing" and it was "withdraw from good thing" which... is kinda functionally the same thing.

There should be an Observation option, that dead people could stay. 1. Option about seeing everything, or getting an invincible Ixian thopter to cruise around. 2. Option about Obsever chat only or All Chat

45:45 Isn't share price also affected by how much spice is being sold by players? In my experiments with CHOAM I used a Harkonnen with like 6 spice fields, and I recall being able to make a rollercoaster out of the price graph by just moving my slider. I'm guessing at this time in your game everyone was selling a lot since the rate was good.

I believe you're correct, the choam market rate is afffected by how much people are selling/stockpiling. It just seemed like a lot with no one else buying any shares!

@daevohk at 1:25:35 the "withdraw gracefully" is basically immunity. For some reason the devs see inclease in choam price buying but also selling as a possitive so you get influence for not participating

I kind of wish that Hegemony was a little further off. The rising meta of early craft workshops seems to really lopside the game to where you can only win with a hedge run/spike. I think the only other victory I have seen is a Chaom one by an out-of-control Baron. I have *never* seen a successful gov run.

Agreed. Hege victories seem to be 99%. They need to make the other win cons more achievable.

You aren't wrong. The less experienced lobbies can still see all sorts of wild win cons, but the higher meta is for sure just hege rush and often feels like location of special regions is heavily weighting the victory for the fortunate spawns. I wouldn't hate a bit of a tone down on the Hege booming.

@@RussNZ based on my watching and little playing this is because hege is the only one you can realistically win while being contested. If you are contested on CHOAM or Gov by one other player it is basically impossible to win on. This happens because there are total caps on the other win conditions, whereas total hegemony in a game is uncapped. There needs to be a better way to lock people out of hege. Maybe make normal regions worth less and special regions worth more to make sniping them away more meaningful? Maybe have regions worth 0 Hegemony when you first capture them and build up to the same max over time (like 30-40 days) so you can’t instantly spike? Maybe have Region hegemony payout at each council?

@@chammy2812 I believe the answer to those problems lies not within the map and regions but with Landsraad, Hegemony is the only win con that politics can do nothing about. If you go CHOAM boom, -20% shares and you cannot buy shares, +100% bying share price, you go politics? boom loss of rights, voting someone else, you go domination, you can vote for healing bases, and lower military strength. What do you heave for Hedge? -1 authority production which is laughable at end game. There should be a law you could pass that blocks all passive hedge gain and you cannot annex new teritories for the duration. Something like that will balance the game more, make politics matter more.

@@yszardkrol9946 that’s a good point! It is clear that Hegemony is the best win condition and something needs to change to bring the different options more inline with each other. This is a good suggestion that doesn’t effect the rest of the game (unlike mine) but would it be enough to increase the other wins more or simply make the games longer?

smugs are very tricky for ecaz. Ecaz want to deathball up and roll forward, and mobile sniper play can really punish that. Meanwhile the snipers are super vulnerable to sneak attacks and flanks but ecaz lack any good flanking units or sneaky initiations

How do you keep money rolling in as Ecaz? I’ve played as them twice, but somehow through mid or late game I’m losing a ton of solari

Ecaz econ usually hinges on getting up your blue museum and then taking advantage of masterpieces to profit off of money quirks in villages and amplify spice production via harvester works. You can have feast or famine based on village quirks though. +3 solari per color types are your bread and butter
