I told Marcel Jeremy but what would make Jessica go against her entire worldview and values for a man sure the original Novel tells us she loves him. But seeing him suffering due to the loss of the original to me adds to the notion that she loves him enough to give him a son also without that what he just didn't want a daughter cause he wanted an heir that's very political and logical and not very loving. So I do think the son prior adds to the original story and makes it richer
