In the ornithopter crash part, watching how the wings got stuck and how they broke off, it seemed really familiar. I think that's because that's exactly how it was described in the book.

Im in agreement, it basically just "ends" but the cinematography, sound and costuming is beautiful. Once the other movie(s) come out, the cliffhanger ending won't matter much. I enjoyed it as someone who never read the books

I really enjoyed the books as well. I actually met Frank Herbert in a Chicago bookstore and had him autograph “God Emperor of Dune”.

Yeah I was recommending it to a co worker yesterday

@@JosephVice I totally loved his books. It’s been many years since I read them. My recollection is that I read all three of the Dune books he wrote. He was fairly old when he wrote them. I think in his 60s. He passed away but left notes for a fourth book which, from what you alluded to in your video, was finished by his son.

No! I haven't read past the first book NO!!! Hopefully we'll get the dinner scene in a director's cut.

The dinner scene is huge in the book really helps the reader put together where the atriedes and other players fit on arrakis. Don't understand it's omission actually I do as they move failed to explain anything in depth. It's a shallow representation of the book

I'm pretty sure there will be a 4 hour director's cut, lol. Sold separately, of course.

Hope so

Mentats are not the navigators. They are separate. Mentats are the computers, and the navigators and the pilots of the ships who live in tanks of spice gas.

I fell asleep halfway into it. I liked the first half. Worm riding sequence was way badder ass than I expected

@@JosephVice Yes that scene was great. Also Feyd was a such savage.
