Glad you brought this point up because so far we've seen him in about 6 great films, but I dont think he was the best in any of them except for Call Me By Your Name. I think he's really lucky that he and Tom Holland are the only popular male actors in their 20s, because it seems every "young man" role always has one of these guys casted. I'm tired of seeing Timothee and Tom Holland in roles that don't even suit them (like Tom in Uncharted and Timothee in The King), but I do feel very happy that they are thriving. They are good people, but I dont think they are anywhere near the same level of acting as DiCaprio, Redford, Brando, etc. They are just lucky that they are being casted because they are popular, because in the end, it's all about making money. But again, I'm not mad at them, I'm mad at the casting directors and producers.

I agree. Except Tom Holland is completely terrible actor, at least Timothee can conjur up some little emotion (which is a norm for EVRY professional actor) while Holland is just pure amateur. I don't think it's gonna be for everyone. I for one have both read the books and seen the movie and thought it was great in terms of the scope, the scale etc. Cinematography and score was top notch. But maybe its just me, but I found the movie really slow for the most part. When it comes to denis villeneuve's movies, they are mostly slow burners for the earlier parts. Blade runner 2049, Prisoners, etc. But I don't know why even though the movie was just absolutely gorgeous, I find myself drawn away from it cause the pacing was way too slow for me. Its just me though. My mum absolutely hated the movie and she fell asleep. But a friend of mine he hasn't read the books, said he loved it. You don't feel the Duke's love for Jessica. You don't feel Jessica's love for the Duke. You don't feel Paul's love for his father. There's threadbare emotional relationships between the characters. Paul's character is not an emo, he's bright, charismatic, bold and playful. Dr Yueh is not just a random Chinese guy, he's been through imperial conditioning, 'he could never betray us' There are major things omitted from the film - Paul doesn't even cry when he kills Jamis. Liet Kynes is a huge character that is barely explored, his character is meant to deepen the mythology of the Fremen on Arrakis and their dreams, he's just a sneeze in this film. The film had one tone, one note, being played again and again, there's no change in pace, or feeling, everyone speaks in the same flat way. I respect this film, and the visual scale and mastery of it, but..........it's just a series of actions happening without any real meaning or context behind it. Timothee is cute. - A Dune fan.

There's a hell of a lot going on with the Baron in the book. I think it was an either all or nothing prospect. He is pretty evil in the book, but a lot jollier! :D
