Using Hans Zimmer’s extended House Atreides theme from his DUNE Sketchbook album as the music track for this trailer was a stroke of genius.

I have read the first 3 Dune books multiple times. If I remember correctly Frank Herbert took 5 yrs to write the first book. This new version/adaption of the book has been better than I expected. I'm thrilled to hear that Dune Messiah will be adapted.

Do read, Dune Messiah is a completely different vibe. It gets into even more about the abuse of power and religion, with loads of intrigue and one of the saddest moments in any book. It also brings other powerful foes into the mix with unique skills.

So many that saw Dune Part One thought it was too slow. I keep thinking that moviegoers are becoming too addicted to the adrenaline rush from hyper-paced action movies. If you read the book, or any good novel for that matter, action is rarely the main asset to the story. Or it may be that those that thought Dune One was too slow were those that never read the novel. Movie adaptations are great, but Dune, like LOTR, is much more fulfilling in the novel form vs the movie. Both have an enormous, rich lore that gets shortchanged in the story’s conversion to the screen.

I think the pace and spectacle superhero films has conditioned audiences to a particular type of film. I'm not criticising those types of movies: I enjoy the occasional foray into that genre although I'm not fanatical about them. Slow burn character pieces in sci-fi and / or fantasy movies should be the norm. I'm so over numbing spectacle and snarky quips.

Dune Messiah will be slower than the first movie. It's great, but it's a different kind of story. No battles, no action. It's about conspiracy, murder and betrayal. And a lot of trippy philosophical ramblings. A lot.

Very touching reaction. First time viewing the channel. My deepest condolences Dan. I’ve been there and can relate. Loved the enthusiasm you share for my passion fandom. Most excited to see Saint Alia of the Knife in this flick which I believe we get a glimpse of when you said “I love this shot.” She and Hayt are the emotional core to the next film Dune Messiah which I’m optimistic of being greenlit. Lol dune will definitely have more trailers. This one was a lil early in the promotion cycle to be the last trailer, there might be another 2 trailers by March 1st. This trailer was released to play in theaters before Wonka. Pretty smart marketing if you ask me lol

great reaction, this is 1st day imax stuff. as a ”dunie” myself, i cannot wait. especially since i recognize all the scenes that ARE in the book. seeing ”your book” before your eyes is priceless - not to take anything away from ”going in blind” and just taking it all in just as a movie. this is what the theaters are made for, and why. nothing beats that experience.

I'm not a Dune fanatic, (having never read the books), but I've gotten hooked on the movies and I'm loving what I've been seeing in this iteration of the series. New subscriber here. Glad to be here. You're both really authentic which is a major plus. Not just entertaining but really heartwarming approach to hosting a channel. I could learn a lot from you guys, I imagine. Dune Part Two will be a colossal event. If advertising doesn't work, word of mouth will. But let's be honest. This trailer is BONKERS good! The other two were as well. The coolest thing about all of it as that this movie can't possibly oversell itself, it is THAT GOOD. So, we might not get another trailer as everyone is masturbating over this one for the next three months lol. Cheers, guys! High five from Canada!
