I'm not sure if you'll read this comment, but I really enjoy your breakdowns because, as a non reader of the Dune books ( which I do plan on reading them), you really cover many parts to help understand and make connections. there's an old story called "the tale of two wolves" that deals with a person being torn between 2 different choices of which voice in their head to listen to. basically the devil on one shoulder and an angel on the other. seeing as how this is dealing with voices whispering all the time and the poor girl's decision to not run towards the light but listen to the voice urging her to stay so she could help the sisterhood could be the allegory the writers meant.

interesting point. also, lila was just too unprepared at that point. getting jump-scared by her own grandmother is what got to her. i want to see what this does between tula and valya, valya not going to care all that much about lila being lost to the agony while tula might start to actually question valya's entire operation.

I am happy with the production design. The planets look great. Also, Desmond Hart is almost demonic at times and the poison trip was terrifying.

I think the dead creatures shown in the intro are a nod to house Harkonnen. They appear to be whales, not wolves, which they established in episode one with the talk of whale fur being their main export and the resource that keeps the family barely afloat in affluence.

I read Frank's novels in the 1980s as a teenager. I'm a big fan of slow burn shows and the way this series is unfolding......dang. It's good and I think 6 episodes will go by fast. This show drips with good writing....minus the needless sex scenes.

i'm starting to see the point of the "needless seggs scenes". so far, the 2 royal characters are still naive and can be easily lured with a honeypot, so that's how their weakness got exploited. with keiran, it's more of getting close to the princess making him look less of an outsider threat, and with constantine it was literally to find out who the prisoner is regarding pruwett's death. i'd like to think there would be no more needless seggs scenes going forward. it does tend to take you out of the immersion.

One critical thing in this video that was missed and was incorrect was that was was taken was not the water of life. To become a RM each planet has a unique way of becoming a RM. in this case it’s the poison mixed with the blood of the first person that was killed in the temple. The water of life is only unique to the planet of Arakis.

The two poisons were different. The one in dune 2 was the bile of a drowned worm. The poison in prophecy was a plant.

Dude this show is great. Way better than the 2 lame new movies. The Emperor lives on Kaitan. Selusa Secundus is the Emperors prison planet. Where it is tough as hell and where Sardaukar are trained. This show while being pretty good and having great actors does not follow Frank Herberts Dune Universe. Neither do Villanuevas movies. Dune is not a coming of age story. It's all about a Drug that controls the known Universe. The spice,folding space,and the Guild Navigators is largely ignored. Because of it being drug oriented and too complex for your average person to follow. You have to read Dune,Children of Dune,and Chapterhouse to get what is going on. Cary in Tucson
