I'm surprised that it is an Atomics as an option as opposed to a Stoneburner since Stoneburners were created to circumvent the laws against using Atomics against another House.

"Does no damage to the capital." Footage shows clearly the nuke taking a chunk out of the capital's "health" bar.

*correction* - I’m told a default atomics operation deals 4000 points of damage, or 20% damage to a full-health capital (not zero damage as I stated here - d’oh!) If that is true regardless of any other unknown variables that could alter in-game values and variable settings, then the atomics are eeeeeeeeeven better! 🔥

Wouldn't the Defense Demolitions make that 4000 damage go up to 6000 if used right before the nuke? I also like how you can clearly see the health bar go down, then you explain how it did no damage to the capitol :D

While they do 20% damage they can't destroy main base even if it is at 0hp you still need to bring one unit and sneeze on it.

Here's what annoys me about the interface: - on the left side, the spies are ordered by: Arrakis / Spacing Guild / CHOAM / Landsraad - on the right side, the spies are ordered by : Arrakis / CHOAM / Spacing Guild / Landsraad WHY SHIRO GAMES WHY? Why do you make my life an unending torment? Why not put stuff in the same order? Why do you have a UI designer that hates me? Why?

Nukes do not instantly destroy capitals (as one might have assumed). But to say " They don't do any damage at all to capitals." is a bit exagerated, no? At 5:18 you can see that it does take a chunk of HP from the sietch. So, in theory one could destroy a player with nukes, maybe about 7? Just a rough guess, though. Edit: Did you check whether defense sabotage increases the nuke's damage to the capital? That may be a feasible combo if it works.

Yeah sorry about that confusion, I misspoke and I’ve issued a correction here. I’m not trying to exaggerate anything. I believe the atomics deal 20% to a fully healed capital - I don’t know if that varies based on difficulty level or any other factors I haven’t tested. The sabotage operation bonuses should stack with atomics damage the same way they stack with standard unit damage.

Demolition units can lower the armor on capitals, they have 20 by default if I remember right. It looked like the armor was soaking most of the damage from your mercenaries, even with Defense Sabotage going.

How do u get the region info to show up over each region like that? Also i cant find the option to show how many building a village has without clicking on it

Just hit the ‘I’ key (i) Also another similarly useful one is ‘X’ to show airfield circumference and range.

Hmmm they still seem really weak and not worth the cost, particularly giving up the Landsraad. Also the council being a little bit annoyed you used them doesnt feel great from a lore perspective. I'd love to see atomics rebalanced and renamed to stone burners or to be powered up and have penalties like not paying smuggler bribes.

They definitely do damage to the main base, especially if it has one of those debuffs that increases damage taken. You can kill their base by nuking them over and over without ever attacking, kinda like assasination.

I’ve heard mixed report on whether you can destroy a base with atomics alone. Some people claim you need units there too, others like you claim you can just destroy it with the atomics operation.

@@JumboPixel They might be right. When I did it the base was left with 1 bar of health, but I just assumed it got lucky. I ran some units across a couple of zones to finish it off.

Atomics have been heavily nerfed since this video, they used to do a good chunk of damage to capitals, now even with defense sabotage they only do around 10% meaning you can't just spam out 4 nukes and kill an enemy. It could take more like 8-10 now, which is a massive drain on intel and solari, while assassinations are just much more cost effective. For destroying villages, the enemy usually has tonne of plascrete stocked by the late game and will just rebuild everything in a matter of ingame days. Once you use a nuke you now get attacked by the council directly on your main base every 10 days. This basically means your army needs to be at your main base at all times because 10 days is barely enough time to capture one other village. So exchanging your army being base-locked for the rest of the game for the destruction of one village is a shit trade-off. I think this is only fun to use in an existential war in a multiplayer game. But unless I am missing something on singleplayer it's pretty much useless.

When you are recruiting militia. you dont need to click on each box. you can just click the militia you want in the pull down and it will auto place the next militia with what you click. Handy hint :)

Nice saving of a few clicks - I always forget that after getting into the habit of clicking each one!
