Only the Fremen use Authority to ally with Sietchs. All the other factions have to send an agent to convince them to join up. Also the Fremen don't have to control the region with the Sietch to ally with them (whereas all other factions have to). However, all factions can trade with all Sietches regardless of whether they control them or not (and once you get them up to 100 relation, they'll probably not attack your controlled villages). Hegemony! I'm surprised this is not listed anywhere on the Faction Selection screen, but each Faction has a unique way of scoring Hegemony. If you mouse over the "Hegemony" resource at the top of the screen, you'll see a line-by-line breakdown. The first line is a unique way for that particular faction to score Hegemony points. Atreides: Have positive resolutions you voted for pass. Harkonnen: Spend Intrigue on Operations Smugglers: Pillage villages Fremen: Based on total water production. This is why you typically see the Fremen in an early lead on Hegemony; it's because of the water their base starts with.

Yeah the unique hegemony earning is really interesting - I’d like to see it up front in the UI in future too. In a video from a few days ago I earned almost half of my hegemony (Harkonnen) by spamming cheap intel operations to cut enemy supply. Awesome feedback btw

Top strat is to track down your old Dune 2000 CD lol. For real though, great video and it's good to see people giving this game a proper look.

Instead of clicking to raise/lower votes, you can click and drag it left/right. Goes faster ;)

Really mate i am confused as hell in this game... 🤔😕🥴 But trying to learn... They should allow to ally with other factions and the minus point of resources should be removed.... 😌😌 Keep it up mate u r doing great... 👌🏻👌🏻😋

the minus point of resources? you mean you shouldnt be able to have negative resources? that would take all the challenge out of the game its not a simulator its a strategy game, also you can ally the other factions well i should say you can get a cease fire.

has anyone figured out how relations work yet? Is it the number of trades? the beneficialness of the trades? does it decay to a resting point? I have tried to be friendly atreides, but it never works. I meet someone, who I don't share a border with, I sign a couple treaties and maybe buy some plascrete... and then it all goes to hell immediately. I am at like 4-5 relations, and they try to pillage one of my colonies, and my automated missile launcher on my main base will fire at them, and all of a sudden I am at -100 relations without even directly attacking them, or even having my militia fight their militia. It seems kind of silly, to have the enemy literally walk in missile range of your command center, and then be mad at you for it firing on them.

I've got to 100 as Harkonnen with the Atreides by offering very favourable deals to them when ever I could afford it, bar up at least 75%
