The team at Dune have a big opportunity here to really put a lot of resources in this RTS. Its a cult hit. And with all the problems at CA, other studios have a big opening to step up and take the throne.

How exactly CA issues will create new openings ? Total war games exist in completely different dimensions, tw and dune are not even competitors

Yeah what does CA have to do with any of this, it's not even in the same genre imho. I think D:SW has potential to be great. It has a lot of fantastic mechanics. What I feel is missing is combat unit variety, which is even simpler than Northgard (which I also love - but let's face it, the unit variety there isn't exactly great either). I wish they'd spend some time focusing on combat, and make some different units with counters, unique mechanics, etc. Something to feel excited and talk about with your friends, or to theorycraft about.

Corrino’s design is top tier. Small land with tall economy, but still has excellent reach to affect the map with an airfield capital ship and several techs/10k hegemony bonus to get it out easily. Nothing feels better than denying hegemony victories by striking across the map to the ship then flying right back to your base before the sprawling empires can respond. Their small ships deny airspace with bonus mech damage and access to only artillery unit in the game is astounding. Only thing that keeps them from being completely busted is the dice roll on village traits and spawn location.

TECHNICALLY only 2 parts are Dune. 😉 but yeah that was one of my favorites for years. I was kind of surprised that so many of the actors from that never really went onto anything better.

I wouldn't have thought in my adhd brain I would be able to watch a full hour and a half video, but damn if Dune isn't just super engaging from the early game right until the end. Love watching this.

Count Duku voice: Ive been looking forward to this... Love the Dune content Turin and pals - I played the original.. back in the days of 5 1/4 floppy disks and 386's. It was the origin of RTS genre, which was cemented by Dune 2 which was much more like what we think of as RTS today.. then of course came command and conquer - which while more famous was really a reskin of Dune 2. Westwood studios.. we miss you!

When zooming out, there are some toggleable buttons. One of them shows you the airfield ranges all the time, try to see if you like it. I find it convenient

the fact its all 'contrived limits & regions'' is the main reason i doubt i ever buy this.. i mean... limited to one processing plant unless taking x leader with is just another contrived resource limit.. be like saying , play C&C tiberian sun firestorm and being limited to one refinery regardless how much your silos is overflowing etc XD honestly this game feels like something that wants the prestige of 'grand strategy!' ..but is afraid to go byond squad combat ..and is blind to what it might have wanted to be would be a grand strategy plattform with rts & fps hybrid mechanics free to be taken above early 90's limits aka supreme commander 1+urban assault
