hey! I think a guide on vernius military would be neat. What units work best vs what enemies or what kind of tactics work best. I have lost almost every combat vs equal armies with this faction. It almost seems like they're meant to exclusively play defensively.

This guide is great! Like.. truly great. I have been struggling with Vernius, they have such deep and complex systems for base building and army composition. This solidifies some of the feelings I have about how to play them in a really concrete way. Thanks!

I go survival training 1st so i can unlock the armor slot for suboid soldier DIY kit. then i will spam suboid soldiers since they wont cost any upkeep anymore and its only 20 manpower then keep on pillaging non tethered regions for solari production, all my agents will go for landstrand for the influnce to enable truce and also I will build embassy once i reach 2.5k so I can buy alot of harmless gadgets without losing too much landstrand standing. after embassy i will go to the spice production tree and unlock the spice laboratory, now i wont have problems for economy and military. you can just keep building dew collectors and plascrete factory in any tethered regions, you dont have to annex a spice field just make sure its adjacent to a tethered region it will still apply the benefits of spice lab and you will save more authority usage. this house is best at domination for some reason since the enjineer and nuwa hero can just keep healing the drones, and i still prefer domination rather than assassination since you need all your agents for enemy information and harmless gadget wont level up information. summary: councilors: - 20% authority reduction, longest node as airfield. -information cost -1, knowledge convert to information when not researching. Knowledge: - military training - harmless gadget trading ( holistic thinking) - spice laboratory tree (entropic engineering) - sequential thinking - spice enlightenment - if you dont have atleast 1 zone of energy fuel get water batteries before entropic engineering. after all this you can do any play style you want Military: start - 1 fighting mek, 1 suboid soldier once DIY kit is unlock - 2 fighting mek, spam all suboid soldier when you get enough water or fuel - 4-5 fighting mek, 4-5 railgun drone, 5 suboid, 1 engr, 3 circular zappy drones ( cant remember the name but they cost 5 command slots), nuwa hero, folder relay. you can always swap out suboid with mek or railgun, folder relay is a must have if youre doing base seiges Economy: military drone upkeep - 2 energy fuel is enough or 1 volcano to supply all your drones if you cant find any of these just get water batteries and annex the polar sink or crescent ridge. solari - pillage non tethered villages cuz i doubt you want a untethered village for -50% production. spice - this is why you want to unlock spice tree first knowledge production - you'll get your knowledge production with your opening strat. 6+ knowledge for truce with technological exchange, every harvester will have +2 when spice lab is unlocked, harmless gadgets will provide 1+ knowledge per information. plascrete - keep building plascrete factories doesnt matter if the village doesnt have the extra plascrete bonus water - dew collectors, polar sink, crescent ridge, (30- 40 is enough, since tethered zones have a reduction water consumption and you mostly have drones anyway) landstrand - this is why you want to get embassy first and truce other factions. when you truce all and have embassy its 30+ landstrand every council vote ( you need this for gadgets and nodes) manpower - 1 or 2 recruitment office is fine, suboid soldiers are cheap. Spying missions: DOMINATION - unlock seige incentives 1. supply 2. -30% missile battery and base dmg 3. -3 armor, +50% dmg taken of base ASSASINATION - unlock physical wiring infiltration cells, and make sure your neighboring them to fully utilize this.

Why are you taking the spice region since your harvester can harvest field right away as it's tethered from being next to your base?

Thank you sir... I've been getting my ass handed to me trying to figure out this fun faction. I appreciate the help!

I like making Mecha from the start even though they cost more because they don't lose supply or trigger worms. When they're not taking cities I have them investigating sites for more resources or repairing at the advanced outpost. I'm notorious for robbing sites from competitors that are in their own back yards just so they can't have them.

Vernius' spice harvesters only need to be tethered to gather spice, so it's inefficient to take the spice field tiles until opponents threaten to take them. You should rather take adjacent areas.
@Dune_Bro6 ай бұрын
Your first spice field is guaranteed to be there. You gamble scouting for another village that might end up being a village you don't want either. In the early game, you can have your units constantly claiming a village or pillaging. As I have mentioned in other videos, it is certainly an option you can try by not claiming the spice field right away.
@Corusame6 ай бұрын
I think if the spice field is close to enemy territory then yes its a risk they take it over. If its deep inside your own territory though I think you can safely leave it neutral and harvest from it. Any neutral spice fields further out will need adequate defences surrounding it to stop it getting captured.
@bradmoshenko77336 ай бұрын
@@Dune_Broslight correction. You mentioned you could start gathering once you took the region. You actually dont need to I believe. You can harvest as long as you tether a region next to the spice region. So you can actually harvest from regions you dont control. I am not sure if this reduces your harvest however by 50%. EDIT: ok you mention the harvesting in other regions, correcting yourself basically. No worries.

I didn't understand why did you capture this spice village at the very begining?
@crashtestdummy23376 ай бұрын
I personally would avoid capturing your first spice field, unless you need the town to advance your neural network. You can harvest your spice without owning it, so why waste the capture?

I had a question; I know it's intuitive to grab spice field region straight off the bat, but do you really *need* to as Vernius? Aside from safety, it seems to get you little extra? Especially if the region right next to it has plascrete, fuel cells or rare minerals. I'm rather new to the game however, so if this is a terrible idea somehow do let me know.

Hello, i was wondering. Why did you grab the spice region. You can mine it without owning it. so idd rather know what els is around me. Since i need to snake for nodes?
@Dune_Bro6 ай бұрын
Ya you technically don't have to capture the spice region at the beginning. It's more of a habit from other factions. I generally do still take it and build maintenance centers and spice silos in many cases. The more I've thought about it, I think you just skip capturing it unless you need to for a certain network path.
@bryantato26 ай бұрын
Are there any upsides to taking spicefields beyond safety? I feel like they always mess up my node line early game
@Dune_Bro6 ай бұрын
I think you can actually skip the very first one, but I'd take others if they are at risk of being stolen. This has happened to me soooooooo many times so I usually just take them.
