Thanks for telling us what tiles you used. DCC has always seemed pretty savage and one I’ve not got to my table yet.

Thank you for your work. I just bought DCC RPG, with a main goal to play solo on it. 🙂 And I find nuggets like your channel for inspiration. that's great. 🙂👍

I'd have just bought a new Hen. Great video though; really nicely presented. 🙂

Great Vid! That's WHY we use HIRELINGS and XTRA pcs :) to get over those first 2-3 levels! So good! OSR is ALL I Play :)

I love the dice you made , a similar idea is in the AD&D Dungeon master Guide 1st ed , but if i recall gary rolled a poker dice and a regular d6 to determine npc reactions , i love the face die you should patent that ! edit subbed !

We got introduced as a band and as an adventuring party to DCC by Beckett of the Cleveland, OH game store Weird Realms in December and we have pretty much abandoned D&D in favor of it! An absolutely brutal meat grinder of a game in the original spirit of things.

It took me a little while to get used to it when we started our game group but now there's no game I would prefer to play than DCC as it's just totally crazy and fun 😁

Good stuff! I'm going to give something like this a go tonight to get some "practice" for running a DCC game.

Another wonderful solo playthru. I'm kind of intrigued by the spell tables I would like to see how they work. Feel like playing magic user? I've been studying the pathfinder playtest. The characters are beefier because you get hps for your race and your class. There is also that three action economy. I think it might be my favorite fantasy game of all time. Give it a look it's free. Glad to see your back to doing your playthroughs. I like your approach.

The comment has been made, but bears repeating - DCC is built around the concept of a zero-level funnel. Players start with 3 or 4 zero-level characters who try to stumble thru their first adventure, often with hilariously fatal results. I’d love to see you try your chicken-rescue scenario again with 4 zero-level mooks, just to see who survives and graduates to first level!

Drizzt = dright (as in bright). Love your videos! Might try and pick this one up. Although I think I'd use the Scarlet Heroes damage system with this.

@@paultice i don't much care for the Eastern setting but the solo rules are nice. I'd like to see your take on that or Ironsworn. Can't really use the mini's in Ironsworn though.

I think if you made a first level character it would be better, or have made four zero level characters, - a mini funnel.

Another great vid Paul! "I think I've been a Turnip Farmer before" love it! There are a couple of 3rd party products for solo play using DCC that I'd love to see you look at, I'll try and find the links

I think I just set them out as I felt they should be, but this is 4 years ago now and I don't think I made a very good job of this video. I think the following link shows DCC RPG better kzbin.info/www/bejne/mIGlhIiHfMh7lbM

Hi, I got some white plastic cubes and used a CD marker pen to draw on them.

I know that you and many others have expressed Basic Fantasy as being your preferred solo gaming framework... but have you had any experience with Tunnels and Trolls?
@paultice5 жыл бұрын
I haven't used T&T yet. I started with Basic D&D in the early eighties so I like the familiarity of the OSR.

If you wanna play solo, what is your system that you’d recommend for someone who is brand new to RPG’s. I’ve played dungeon crawl board games and pen/paper crawls as well.
@paultice2 жыл бұрын
Scarlet Heroes contains a full role playing system which is nice and streamlined, with loads of tables and rules for solo play, and it's based on the familiar D&D style D20 system with some really nice rules for skill checks and fleshing out your character without making things too complicated.
@fehner272 жыл бұрын
@@paultice would you recommend DCC as the next step up in terms of complexity?
@paultice2 жыл бұрын
@@fehner27 Probably yes. The character class abilities, along with the critical hits, fumbles and spell tables make it a step up. But it's still a streamlined version of D&D, just without the built-in solo play features of Scarlet Heroes. But if someone wanted to try solo-ing a "standard" rpg I would always recommend trying Basic Fantasy RPG because the PDFs are free and it's a really comprehensive system with loads of supplements available, just not specifically designed for solo.

I saw your mines of moria briefly before you pulled it. I loved it honestly. I hope you decide to do it again. Just curious what is your favorite rpg for solo play?
@paultice5 жыл бұрын
I will do Moria again 😁 I really like Basic Fantasy, I think it's my favourite. Firstly it's all free, and you also get morale as well as reaction tables to help with the AI, which is great for solo play.

Great - besides that some question, your dungeon tiles look quite good and versatile, where are they from and how are they called?
