I do have to say This looks absolutely stunning The only problem I would see would be still seeing the others while you are looking through the eyes of a miniature Seeing a giant outside of the walls of where you are would ruin the emersion Maybe a setting to turn that on/off if it's a preference

Will there be a community where you can share and download mods? Like character models, walls, castles, monsters or other things? How about tools that help you mod/add/create more things? Even tho I totally believe you have created many, many models for the game, having a big community behind you will help immensely to create the world you envision. Liebe Grüsse! I saw the ad and backed it immediately. I'm just now getting started in D&D so I wanna buy books and figurines and stuff but I already have an Oculus Rift for VRChat. Might as well use it for R&D too! I could save lots of money not having to buy so many miniatures and map building assets. But I have to admit buying miniatures is pretty cool. Still though I'm super excited to start my new hobby and combine it with VR too!

You see....Ive wanted this for SO many years. Ive watched Anime , ive played DND , but i always wanted to BE in that world. What you are doing is making alot of peoples dream come true. But you gotta understand that alot of people have been cheated out from kickstarters and other projects like this. RAW is probobly the most recent large event. So yeah...Sorry if some seem skeptical or such. We have just been backstabbed too many times. But you have my support. I cant donate much , but the amount I can , I will. I will do everything in my power to make sure this is something I can use one day to run a campaign. The ability to pop into the skin of your NPC's as the DM and your player characters makes a world of difference. With my group of friends that play we could have some seriously hilarious content. Looking into the tiers now and definitely going for early access. I wish my coding skills were worth anything so I could help with this project but I am a very new hobbyist. When is this available to try out? I would love to put some episodes together to show the unlimited potential of DnD in this platform.

I often find myself struggling to enjoy tabletop games because I have aphantasia, so I can't mentally picture the world or the characters in it. This is EXACTLY what I need to be able to enjoy these games more. Sadly I don't think I'd be able to convince my group to use this (they weren't even up for using Roll20 so we could have interactive maps which would have helped at least a little for me), so I guess I'll be stuck not enjoying things as much as everyone else for the foreseeable future.

I have mixed feelings about this. RPGs are a way to let your imagination wonder so the more visuals, the less your imagination works. I'm also afraid it's going to add a lot more work for the GM to get a session ready, and might be iffy when the GM has to improvise because the players did something unexpected. But on the other hand, this can help remote players get the same feel as being all gathered together in one room, looking at the same battlemap and can help clarify situations where people aren't sure they saw something or just make sure everyone understands the same thing. Also, glad to see the project isn't VR only so that removes the need for everyone to have VR headsets.

Before I back this project, I have a few questions: When in miniature form, can you still roll dice? Can you provide a video of actual combat between a player and the DM controlled monster, with things like how to select a weapon or magic spell? Can you provide a video of what the DM sees? I'm guessing he sees those buttons you keep talking about, and his adventure notes? Is there a way to program secret doors for a player to actually search for and trigger, rather than roll the dice? Will there be traps and will they be automatically triggered when the player walks through them? Will the player be able to interact with doors, chests, books, etc in the miniature view? Thanks. Really looking forward to this!

Hey there. I have to say I am very interested in DFD. One question I have is: Could a game map be expanded upon in size. I only ask because I have known friends and DM's who like making city sized locales. I'm not expecting anything of that proportion initially. I am merely curious.

The important thing is the easy of use for the DM and the flexibility what they can create with it. Too limited in what you can do, or any clunky controls, lack of information for the DM, and it all falls apart. It no longer becomes the ultimate roleplaying tool, but a mere gimmick. The potential here is huge, but it just needs to be finely optimized for true immersion and ease of play. I hope you know how difficult of a task that it.

With all respect, I think you are trying to do too much. Most people just want to have a customizable table with a lot of assets so they can play THEIR own game. And many people like to play in different settings than fantasy , like sci-fi, horror, Mad max , cypher punk.... Focusing on adding those things is more important in my opinion than gimmicks many people will never use.
