Dragon is S if you possess one. They have the overpowered grenade, a lot of HP, heal, immune to lava, meteors to blow up boulder traps, and word of power for extra cheese. You can complete a lot of maps just controlling a single dragon.

Absolutely, I remember how when I was a kid I'd fill my dungeon with traps and then kill the Avatar by controlling a single dragon. It's also fun to sustain the flame of a lvl 1 dragon into the avatar and then watch It get to lvl 10 in a few seconds lol

@@judson9223 not hard to see bile demon that low if the matchup is just put those 2 creatures in front of each other and fight the bile demon loses to any ranged monster that's faster than it or has a slow/freeze (which is almost all ranged monster), because ranged monsters kite very well in dungeon keeper if you micro a bile demon to always drop it on top of ranged monsters it would rank much higher wizard is crazy powerful because it has slow, rebound, heal, drain and especially freeze, that's why it's up so high.

Was fun, ty. I would kinda agree, once you had put the dragon up. Dragons are great tanks, to protect any ranged fighters behind them. They can also attack over lava. I usually throw away all my warlocks, once training is finished. Their places, under the creature max, can than be taken by better creatures.

To me dragons are the quintessential 'tanks' to your army so I find they don't pack out as much damage as others if you hoard loads of them, although they are generally good. People tend to take a dump on warlocks so I try to give them a fair shot :P although I'm much the same - use them for research then throw them in the portal once you get torture chamber and other rooms to make way for mistresses and others. I find them really useful early on for an early attack or defence.

warlocks l10 are the best at removing boulder traps and at destroying everything over lava or from reinforced shores

I feel dragons shine the most when possessed because I can just hold the fire breath and they do good dmg. But normally their dmg feel kinda weak because they just do their fire breath in short bursts. The knight is also my favorite to convert on first map with a torture chamber and a prison and then just find the send creature on every map that has it.

i would put orcs and dragons in s tier. they are easy to get, are the backbone in every dungeon for research and manufacturing, train super fast and without supervision (or you can posess a dragon and torch your other dragons or enemies to get them to lvl 4 almost instantly) and are both insanely strong when posessed. the orcs attack range, dps and kiting ability is super underrated imo. in fast maps these guys are king

I do like how fast those creatures train up, which reduces time and money for them. I tend to find dragons don't kill things fast enough, but that's not really their job, and you don't need too many of them. Maybe could do with using orcs more often but they die quickly in fights.

Great list, I mostly agree with it. I'd put Orcs as the first unit in B - truly meat and potatoes of your army, nice guys that don't really stand out. Trolls are at least right up with the Orcs, for me personally A tier - they do one job, and are the best at it. If you need a lot of traps or rely on workshop economy, it's better to have 2-3 Trolls then wait for Demons to drag their ass in from another lunch break. And they train fast, and get Speed at lvl5. Even when I'm limited to 10-12 creatures, one Troll is usually welcome to join. Dwarves - I love them, always try to convert a few for no reason at all, but they really belong in C. Slow trainers, and average workers/fighters. Fairies also belong in C, because they are fragile af and rarely survive in combat. Plenty of units can research, and research usually ends in early/mid-game. I think Archers and Tentacles ended up too low, and Warlocks too high, would probably move them to the top/down of their respective tiers. Oh, and the Witch - I'll honestly put her in D because I'm not gonna take her anyway, good researcher or not, so what's the point.

Trolls aren't nearly as good as orcs. Orcs are like Trolls on steroids. More damage, more health, faster training, faster manufacturing even. Other than making Horned Reapers, Trolls can't hold a candle to Orcs.

@@omrin6834 Trolls have no equals in the Workshop, Orc's skill is 3 against the Troll's 4 (highest in the game). Both have Speed, trolls get it 1 level earlier even. Otherwise they are not really comparable because you don't take a Troll to use him in the fight, you take him if you need to maximize traps or magic door economy. If you can't allow a slot for a Troll then yep, 10 level Orcs will do very well. If creature limit is high/gold is low, and you need to minimize wages/training, Trolls are also an excellent choice to fill up the ranks.

QUESTION: its worth to send D creatures to cementery or prison for troops, BUT is it worth to torture them until ghost?

Bile daemons had the potential to be very useful, but I always found that you had to spend too much attention on them for them to really be all that great. Most other creatures could contribute nearly as well but with a fraction of the babysitting, so to me they're a C-tier creature. Witches I tended to not want, due to the wind spell. They so easily became a danger to your own army. And fighting them was also really annoying. If there were witches in the enemy army then fights would take forever. I think the game would have been better without them (or at least without the wind spell). So they're, to me, a D-tier creature. Other than that, I largely agree with the list. Well, flies have the scouting utility, combined with just being very fast, it's nice to have a single fly to use with possession, so I would probably bump them up to C for that reason.

The problem is, Warlocks have Wind too. Lol sounds funny saying they have wind. I edited the game files to remove Wind from every single creature/hero in the game. Similarly, I edited the files to remove the functionality of Disease, Chicken, Cave-In, and Destroy Walls. These are really stupid spells. I love DK but it does have some fucking stupid things about it. I also made Word of Power more effective and damaging, and balanced the Warlocks with the Wizards by giving them Rebound.

@@UMBR. You're right, they get Wind at level 8. Because I would usually not train my creatures to levels that high before beating a level it wasn't much of a problem, but I would imagine that having a bunch of highly trained warlocks would be painful. Yeah, Dungeon Keeper is a great game, but it's not flawless, and it has some design decisions that makes you wonder what they were thinking. They also did not really get the pacing right in a lot of the later levels. Playtesting for such things did not seem to be nearly as important back in the olden days as it is now.

Nice! My armies were usually favored by Dark Mistress, Priestess, Dragon, Warlock, if I can risk it, Horned Reaper, and Bile Demons only work sometimes no thanks to that gas attack, just ends up putting them away. (This was however the original verison, I never played with this dragon fix, so that might change with them.). Fairies and Hellhounds kinda helped me when scouting and I didn't want to use an Imp.

I almost completely agree with this list, except for Witch and Fairy. They're both nightmares that always cause a little bit of panic in my mind when I see them coming as part of a hero raid. While they aren't too difficult to deal with on their own, the chaos they can cause when you underestimate them is insane. I realize this list is more about how useful they are for you, but I can't help but feel like they've been somewhat undervalued. Yes, witch probably isn't worth having on your side, but I think fairies in your back line are one of the most powerful and useful units you can have honestly. Other than that, I think trolls deserve to be around the same spot as skeletons at least. Overall, I'd say Trolls should be right around Barbarian, and Fairy should be right behind Mistress in S tier.

I had put the Witch much higher. She is the best for transfer creature and can defend your Dungeon Heart as one Woman Army. Vampire/Knight/Horny are likly to go postal, before you can deal with them.

as i kid a was a dragon lover. but now my favorite unit is defently Mistress. I never build baracks as kid, so i did not know the power house ORC Fast, deadly, can kite as hell.. now with all my wisdom i have gatherd over this game. S tier for me (if you speak about lvl 10 units) - Mistres (deadly, fast, good worker, researcher, etc... allround she is the best!!), Orc (start to shine from lvl7 with protect spell and best worker), Bile demon (easy to recruit, cheap and best frontline unit, in packs with all the farting they are realy deadly, can stand punch), vampire (altough hard to get, ultimate power house). Horny ofcourse (just mad slaughter chad, put him in guardpost to keep him happy and bussy) I dont count the avatar, he is not realy a unit u can decently play. A tier: Wizard (best spellcaster), Knight (Strongest melee after horny), samurai (brother of mistress, litte less good) Witch (most offensive spellcaster, one of the best in for possesion) B tier: skeltons, dragons, warlock, etc...

nah you probably havent used horned reaper right then he is very easy to handle just keep him busy in the training room or temple and he will never get angry the best feature of him is that he is extremely strong, super fast and can walk on lava first person him and you will wreck any AI enemy by storming their heart with your trained reaper Knight on the other hand is slow and very tanky, good for defense

Honestly, i think Demon Spawns is the most useless creature. They just aren't particularly good for anything, yet they're almost as costly to maintain as an Orc.

dragons are A tier cuz they self heal nonstop, the avatar is a god-tier so as a vampire cuz it can kill the reaper 1 vs 1, the samurai and the mistress are in the A tier the ogre and the wizard are in B tier (the game of my childhood, countless hours spent playing it)

Bile demon for me is closer to C - B tier. The poison gas Ability really causes problems with cult to arms and the amount of friendly fire you get pisses me off. I tend to put these guys back into the portal for dark mistresses's or use them in the temple for a horned reaper or a dark mistresses. Depending on what level you play on. If a dark mistresses is used correctly they are the most powerful unit in the game

I love dungeon keeper My armies always consist of lvl 7-10 dark misstress as my ranged attacks, lvl 10 orcs as my frontline solders, lvl 6-10 dragons as my defense and 1 or 2 lvl 10 Horned Reapers as my all around guys

Yes and no. DK Mobile was definitely way better than Clash of Clans, but it ain't DK.
