The dragon is Themberchaud from an Underdark city called Gracklstugh which you can find most recently in the Out of the Abyss 5e adventure. Yes, there is an official movie plushy and it's chonky.

That fat dragon is Themberchaud. Raised by duergar in the underdark as a slave to fire their forges. They kept him very well fed but in such small confines he'd get no exercise and has the dubious honor as Faeruns fattest dragon. Very cool the writers included him.

You have to wonder if D&D invented him after the red dragon story told in the casino in Rush Hour 2. Where the villagers fed the red dragon to keep him strong, to guard their treasure in a cave, except he got too big, and no one could get to it anymore.

@@thecharmer5981 In 4e, Druids can turn into whatever the heck they want, it's just that it's going to be sized to the character (i.e., a medium sized PC turns into a medium sized owlbear, while a tiny PC like a pixie would be a tiny owlbear...which would be hilarious, and I kinda want to do this thing...). There's even a concept of just kinda...being the pure essence of beast, never truly settling in one form entirely while in Wildshape, and just being a whirling nightmare dervish of fangs and claws.

I just got home from watching the movie and I can say the movie pretty enjoyable. the lore faithful, the interaction not overly forced funny and pretty balanced, the cast get great bond in this movie. I can't say about other people's but i certainly enjoy this movie 👌☺️

HEY! I saw her(Saige) in a REALLY bad ass Call of Cthulhu game!!! Around 3:30 I think Saige might be right about magic being cast on the... let's say weapon, it looks like and axe but in the next clip it almost looks like a war hammer, because right after that we see what looks like the same weapon NOT all glowing with devastating fiery power! Good shout! Now to my opinion of the trailer, and movie: As long as I, and people in general, accept that this is NOT going to be a DRAMATIC movie I believe it will do very well! If people come into the movie expecting a dramatic reenactment of D&D they WILL be SERIOUSLY disappointed! I think I like that they decided to go more comedy over drama, most tables end up there anyway why shouldn't a movie! I might actually take effort to see this movie now, even with all the BS that WotC/Hasbro has pulled the last few months!!!

Honestly I'm sure the Axe thing at 3:23 is just for Hollywood screen flare. If however you are looking for some kind of justification, it may be a lil nod to a mechanic in Baldur's Gate 3 where you can dip your weapon in a surface for some limited/additional damage. Again, I really think someone said "That would be a funny haha line" however with the release of the game later this year, it wouldn't be too out of place for an easter egg to generate some early buzz

Charisma is my dump stat. For some reason, I usually roll an 8 during character creation. Unfortunate when it's for a sorcerer with a Strength of 18 and AC of 10.
