actually the ps1 version (or Revelations Persona) isnt as hard as the psp port the devs lowered the encounter rate and made the enemies give more exp to help balance the game out (estoma was removed to compensate) I've played both version and while the psp version is much more refined the encounter rate is so much worse :

@@OldEnemy1 PSP Soundtrack was like a third of the length of PS1 soundtrack without even getting into various jingles you hear in battles. Odds are for PSP various theme were consolidated to serve multiple purposes. For something similar if I recall right PS1 has two themes for the school, Initial one and when you return to it after crisis starts, while PSP uses School Days in both instances.

@@frenchyproductions9692 yeah that’s the one. iirc, in the Japanese version of Revelations, the encounter rate is identical to the PSP version, or at least a lot higher. They changed the encounter rate and increased the EXP gain in the localization in order to lower the difficulty.
