7:32 A Champion can also open any number of Chest, so that previous example of 2 Companions was not the best example
15:11 It was very quick but Richard just transformed a Scroll into a Champion!!!
21:38 After defeating the Dragon you get a Treasure from the Treasure box and you also get 1 Experience point
22:56 Treasure Tokens that pertain to a certain Hero class are to be used as if it was a Die of that Hero, it's basically another hero, so Richard could have used the Talisman to open the chest or drink the Potions!
26:05 Doing things out of order... first he has to defeat all the monsters... after that he can open chests and drink potions!
31:45 He already passed that level... the excitement takes reason from Richard:
6 points form the previous rounds + 9 from this round + 1 from the dagger + 2 from the Portal + 2 from the Dragon scales + 2 from having a pair of Dragon Scales = 22 Points at the moment... so he's a Village hero now, almost a Seasoned Explorer

@13:00 You had a Champion, a Vorpal Sword (Fighter), and an Elixir (potion treasure) - that is enough to defeat a dragon. You do not need to spend a party die to use your potion treasure - many people misunderstood this, so in the reprint we changed the name of that treasure to Elixir. The Elixir gives you the effect of having quaffed a potion - it does not give you a potion you could quaff.

Heres the situation, I was making a late night snack and the ever brilliant Rahdo quotes Will Smith from Parents Just Dont Understand. Before you had a chance to say anthing I may have sang the next line out loud and then you said. And I standing alone in the kitchen before my half made sandwich clapped and laughed out loud, possibly making the most awkward moment of my life. Well played sir you are awesome.

I modded this using the additional dragon cards found on BGG so you have different dragons in each dungeon. I also roll a 26 for every battle: Even means kill monster AND hero survives to fight on. Odd = hero insta-dies as in game rules. Thematically makes more sense as your heroes don't die EVERY time they fight.

Champions are _not_ wildcards. They're just good in fighting everything, but they cannot be used as a fighter, a cleric or a thief, they are champions. This is important when fighting the dragon, because you have to have 3 different party members, so you could never use more than 1 champion. And it's also important when using special character abilities which only affects certain types of heroes.

5:26 aww the game is the cruel just sacrifice a minion no hope keeping them alive :(. I love your reviews thy for this, this looks like quality game but this is the point i feel tis not my thing. (nobody is left behind WSL)

Fighters cannot take out pairs of enemies , they can defeat one Skeleton, one Ooze or any number of Goblins , it's in the rulebook . LE : ok, i saw it now, its the specialty of the hero :)

There's a notation that says the Thieves Tools would take out the two Slimes in round 10.

9:53 Potions are not explained correctly. For each potion you drink (quaff), including the first, you always resurrect one companion die from the graveyard, setting it to any side you want. So, they are not transformation potions; they are all resurrection potions.

+Rainer Ahlfors they are transformation poitions, because to drink the first potion, i must put "the drinker" into the graveyard, and then bring someone out of the graveyard. so functionally, drinking only 1 potion changes the identy of the drinker die to whatever i want. drinking additional potions on top of that functionally starts making other dice resurrect :)

I bought the game on a hype after watching the video, but after a couple of games the thrill just went down the drain. I am quite disappointed, despite I knew all the bad criticism about the lack of real choices and the straightforwardness of its mechanics, but anyway wanted to give it a try. I think I'll resell it once I've tried it with 5 players. I am looking forward to trying Scripts and Scribes, which I think will be a big improvement as compared to this one.

Several times, there was a dragon, but it didn't block Richard from using potion dice. This seems wrong to me, but maybe that's allowed.

I received this game yesterday. My copy did not come with the cemetery card or the dragon hoard card. Is it because I have a newer or older print and they didn't make those cards for that run? I even went to the trash to make sure I did not accidentally throw them away.

just bought this, does not have graveyard or dragons layer cards with it, disappointed , i know it does not effect game play but looks cool and more thematic , is this one a special edition??? anyone?

Ahhhh yes I thought must be something like that I checked in the book and there not included, that is ok I will look out for a card the right size with a cool dragons lair on it and then a card with a good fantasy looking inn on it, I think thats a better idea than a graveyard, my warriors and such shall escape and retire, rest up in the inn untill next called to delve into the dungeon once again. thanks for letting me know dude

Im bipolar and i love this game. It helps me relax. This dice game make me feel im a warrior in a realm defeating a evil dragon. I do house rules that im a adventurer, saving a village against a dragon. This game alot of fun :)

at 11min when he finished lvl4, coundnt he have left , with the vorpal and potion unused wouldnt that mean that he left with 6pts and lvled up anyway

+jeff blanchette afaik, you need actual LVL chips (not treasures) to level up. the treasures aren't worth points until the end of the game :)

MADNESS!!! :) i have to admit, it never occurred to me that treasures could drink potions, because if they could, why didn't you just thematically make them additional adventurers instead of inanimate objects? i figured thematically that i, as the leader, would use these objects to fight as well as the followers who had fallen.

+rahdo Well, the Talisman says "use as a Cleric," and a Cleric can drink potions... Earlier in the video, when drawing a Vorpal Sword treasure you said something like "this is equivalent to having another Fighter" (which is accurate) - so then why wouldn't the sword be able to open a chest or drink a potion? In fact, you had a thieves tools open a chest looking to "upgrade" to a different treasure!

+Seth Jaffee you're thinking in terms of gameplay function first... i always think in terms of game theme first. thematically, the way you've set up the game, I (the mercenary leader of the party) used the thieves tools to emulate what a thief would normally do for me. or i use the amulet to ward off the undead, like a cleric would normally do. etc. by not naming those tokens literally cleric/thief/fighter/wizard, and instead labeling them as inanimate objects that *i* (the hero) wield, how could i ever expect that these items would suddenly start drinking potions and converting into living breathing adventurers? again, from a thematic perspective (which is how I learn and teach games)

+rahdo Maybe it would have been better to name them "Fighter" and "Cleric"... but then it would be kinda gruesome to find them in a treasure chest, wouldn't it? :) Looking at it now, there are a few things I'd have done differently - like call the Scroll a Squire, and make it a Companion (so can kill any 1 monster) for example.

+Seth Jaffee yup, you saw how in the video i had to explain the scroll thematically for it to work for me ("it's really a squire waiting to read the scroll"), since it can drink a potion. otherwise it just makes no sense :) if it had been me, i'd have called the 4 'hero' tokens something like 'imprisoned adventurers', and so opening a chest (and having someone die from the trap) could just as easily be symbolic opening a jail cell (it is a dungeon, after all), and change the icons on those hero tokens to exactly match the icons on the dice. once i free an imprisoned cleric, boom, he's a member of the team, and can fight undead, and can drink potions, and bob's your uncle, everyone would immediately grok how it works. and if he's still with me at the end, he's worth a VP because i saved him :)

@@jayce704 sorry, my point was that i'm not keen on spending a couple of hours researching a bunch of games to make you a custom list. faq.rahdo.com #5 has a link to a forum where if you asked the question, you'd get a boatload of great suggestions from likely dozens of different people, so it's the much better way to go :)
