During the Overlord phase of the Invisble Overlord rules, you always draw two cards. The first card uses the number of activations provided in the mission book for thr adventure and ignores the value on that card. You are using the card to provide the random tactics and this card represents the normal overlord activations that a player overlord would have. You then draw a second card where you use the number of commands and the tactics. This card represents the Overlord card that the human overlord would play from their hand.

When you have more activations from the IO cards than you have active model based on a tactic like attack or pin, the remaining activations get shifted to support which can then be used to raise skeletons from piles of bones.

Awesome! Looking forward to seeing more playthrough! DS has been on (the edge of) my radar for years, but never could quite pull the trigger, as I wasn’t aware of the expansions and, more importantly, a solo mode. I blindly backed the Origins KS at the Pledge Manager Access level a few days ago. Looks like I need to do some online shopping for the original game, or hope that it can be added via Pledge Manager. Thanks for the extremely timely *solo* playthrough

I don't think any of the original expansions are available in the Pledge Manager... the rule tweaks would make them slightly out of synch. That said, you could easily modify them to the Origin rules, I suspect.

@@thetabletopengineerplays yeah, Mantic confirmed in comments that the two games are completely incompatible. By their tone, they’re essentially disavowing the original game, euthanizing it as “a learning experience”.

Feats replace the heroes turn completely, so if you attack and fail you cannot then use the feat. I think at one point you got a hero attack confused with a monster attack so rejected an attack that would have killed the skeleton. I also think you forgot to apply the outnumbering to the skeleton which would have reduced its armor to 1 (when defending) since its attack value was already the minimum.

What the number of hits does is listed in the last few columns for each minion type on the overlord panel.
