pretty cool video, though there were a few things missed for some classes. for example Druids can heal the group when using ironfur for huge heals, they also have auto regrowths for free and overhealing that heals the group too. So I'd either push that up to 4-5 for healing.

Great video, thank you for this. One thing I would have been interested in is the difficulty of each tank; you touched on this a couple of times that I felt that it could have been a good number to rank. By difficulty I mean; how much will I be mashing keys to keep threat and stay alive, how much will I be punished for mistakes, how hard is it to position myself and mobs, how much effort does it take to use my utility effectively. Skill floor/ceiling etc.

You're missing a lot of Bear's self healing: After the Wildfire (Group), extra healing received through talents, free Frenzied Regens, and either Ursoc's Fury or Elune's Favor.

Paladin should have at least a 1 in displacement, simply because they can kick casts by throwing their shield into casting enemies that are far away, so they stop casting and change location, mostly to your advantage. Saying that great video for people who want some kind of information on what tank class they want to play.

I disagree about druids self healing. Dream of cenarious and protector of the pack is one of the best combos. The amount regrowth will heal for is around 60% total HP and can proc every 20 seconds. Let's not forget galactic guardian, twin moonfire and elunes favor for a constant HOT.

Grabbing Titanic Throw + Imp Heroic Throw can be good for range aoe/pickup. high threat to 5 targets on a 3 seconds cd, can be weaved into melee range aswell with some movement or shockwave, since it does more damage and threat than a revenge + costs no rage.

you forgot Druid's skullbash as a part of mobility. its a small range charge. but still its a great mobility tool! with the "double charge you don't need the ranged AOE its real easy to get groups together with the swipy-swipes to get everybody in a big cluster!

I know it’s good practice just to leave the key if it’s low and a DPS is whinging, but in your experience, is there any response that will make them take ‘a long, hard look’ at themselves? Omg, thank you so much for this! The whole vibe thing was what I was looking for, not "who's the best in Mythic blah blah blah" nonsense. I just wanted to get the general feel of each tank and you broke that down beautifully for me, so thank you for that! I'm looking for this because I'm not a big tank person (I'm definitely more comfortable doing DPS) but I'd like to have at least one of each role in both faction (Hi, my name is Azure and I'm an altoholic), just to be prepared (even though I do mostly solo content). I also RP, so that's a big thing for me too. So, I've had a pally tank in the Alliance and a warrior tank in the Horde and quite honestly...I don't like my pally. I just don't. I'm not feeling it. But I really do enjoy my warrior in the Horde but...I really don't want to do yet ANOTHER warrior to replace my Alliance pally, if I can help it. I've narrowed down the playing field to two possibilities. I'm here because I don't like my pally, I only want one of each Heroic class and I have those covered, so DH and DK are not up for consideration, and I don't really like bear druids (druids are low on my list overall). So it really boils down to getting another tank warrior, which I am familiar with and enjoy, or going for the big question mark...the tank monk. I've only ever played DPS monks, so the tank was a big mystery to me. Thanks to this vid, I now have a general idea of how they work and they definitely sound interesting, so I may give that a shot. Technically boneshield is not DKs active mitigation. It is a short buff after using deathstrike. Some boss mechanics in legion asked for active mitigation which is this short buff.

Paladin displacement isnt zero... avenger shield is a kick, and by extension so is divine toll. They're REALLY good at moving casters into range. They also get an AoE disorient.

as a brewmaster my self-healing and defensives keeps me alive for a long time and even competitive with certain healers and other tanks, its all about managing the combos, stacking purified chi, and not panicking when you are rubber banding 🙂

It’s out of two tanks for me i mained VDH for shadowshite but this time I have casually been playing blood dk I love being top of healing in every dungeon so in my mind I’m playing it right I’m a bit of a noob and use add on called MAXDPS to help with my rotation 2 million on wow use it so it must be good and use pawn to tell me which is best upgrades I’m a simple guy so forgive me but I will take any advice on tanking or add ons best to use.

for BDK ressources gestion, when you say it's "not too crazy complex", is it because unlike lots of other tanks you don't need to spam some spells and have to use deathstrike at the "good moment" ? Cause i love the gameplay and the survivability of the BDK, it's so chill. I love not having to spam spells so I have enough time to keep watching my life bar, others life bar, put my aoe, regularly a deathstrike, keep my runic power quite high and my bones stacks... but that's it ; is that "complex" ? i hope that's all in the basic rotation cause i'm scared it won't be enough for M+ and the class might be too complex for me at higher level.

Self healing for druid is a 3? Usually I heal more or equal than the healer. I would changed the defensive too (4-5), Guardian Druid is actually so resistent.

Good video, but could probably use an update. Seems the tanks you rated lowest are also the ones that the most mistakes were made, items missed. But like you said, you like movement most of all. Personally, I hate having a Demon Hunter or Monk tank, as they are often too reckless and play tank like they are DPSing. Just old school mindset on my part, I like my tanks to be tanks.

For me it’s DK. I just can’t do dungeons anymore without grips after playing it for a few addons. And the DF changes (or let’s say improvements) are fantastic. And unholy is an amazing dps spec, not the easiest, but can have the highest burst AOE or ST of all classes.

I appreciate the input in this video and can see how this will help some people, but as a player who religiously plays only tanks and knows how to layer ability to do there little tricks I do not agree with some conclusions you have come to. for example you can heroic leap thunderclap and charge back to your original location in all within 1 second this does 2 AOEs and debuffs and you are back in position in the blink of an eye. so not wanting to be in the location you leaped to is not a problem at all.

I preferred when paladins frill worked more with mana. Then holy power could have just been for your big defense abilities. That away they could have still used mana and spell power the most and their mana for just normal everyday abilities that other paladins could use. That hurts them and it’s why I hate them removing spell power as their main resource.

I disagree with your warrior ranged AOE rating. With the Titanic Throw, it’s an awesome snap threat ranged AOE threat bomb that hits 5 semi spread targets at range without compromising your positioning. If you play with it in dungeons, you immediately see how useful it is to pull stray packs, surprise pats, etc. I’d give them a 4 out of 5 here.

DH Utility 3? Imprison AOE Stun Interrupt (Talented to 15 Yards is better then most ppl think) AOE Silence AOE Fear Consume Magic Arcane Torrent (Racial, gonna count that since they can only be BE and who plays Ally?) Spectral Sight (COS) Darkness (AOE dmg reduce for entire grp/raid) Cheat death (Last resort) (Chains if talented, not really a viable build in M+ this season) And (like this is not enough for a 5 already) Chaos Brand = +5% Magic dmg on everything (gotta keep them mages happy to get port back after dungeon) If that is not a 5 i dont know whats missing? Depending on the content you do you can even lower CD on Nova, Darkness or Missery

What tank is the best at pulling multiple Enemies towards Themselves and keeping Them focused on Themselves? In my eyes a true tank is selfless being a shield for Their Allies having the Enemies focused on attacking Them and taking on the pain and punishment so Their Allies don't get hurt and I want the tank that best reflects that.

Giving paladin a 1 in mobility is just wrong. Steed with 2 charges + freedom movement with speed buff is a ton of mobility compared to BDK or bear Druid. Paladin also plays like a range dps class so you rarely feel like you are struggling to get to a mob.

I agree with most scores on other tanks but Paladin displacement isn't 0 but at least a 2..... and self healing a 2? That's blasphemy, with the right talents self healing is a 4 at least. I've done mythic plus telling the healer to ignore me all instance and heal the dps only without any problems.

I don't think the Displacement grade on Paladins is fair. Between AS and Judgement you can easily tag 5-6 mobs and IF any are casters follow that up with Divine Toll and they all are interrupted and come running. Consecrate slows enemies and if any try to run use HOJ. Their displacement is partially dependent on build but a 0 it ain't. I would say a 2 or 3. I felt like he was super anti-Paladin so that may play a part and it didn't seem like he played the class a whole lot so that may also be a factor.

I feel like the weakest tank ever as a monk now, and i have 30000 buttons to hit and then look at mechanics and then look at the raid and then positioning... It also feels really squishy, I die faster than anyone. Beardruids can solo a boss from 5% down, while i as a monk without a healer dies in the first couple of seconds... I've seen blood solo and warri solo too, not played with too many palas.
