I like to think that in the last campaign, when the team messed with the sluice gates in the sewers, that was what caused delirium to travel down the dram river, inadvertently causing the premise for this campaign.

In my games we’ve banned anachronistic/fourth wall breaking references like this. It actually helps to keep all of the players in character much more and keep the immersion going.

Watching this campaign so far, I really like the differences between Wilhelm and Sebastian character-wise. Although Seb is technically more intelligent than Wilhelm, he doesn't seem to use it as much. Sebastian has always seemed to be kind of flying by the seat of his pants, using his charisma to talk himself in and out of problems. Wilhelm is much more cautious and plans things out ahead of time, because he's just a regular dude and doesn't have the godlike powers of the Shadowfell at his beck and call. In general, this group seems to be using their smarts much more, probably because of their greater general experience and wisdom. Just my observations though, so I could be mistaken.

I agree with that i was beginning to think they were similiar but i also remember that unlike sebastian wilhelm has a code and kind of firmly seats himself into the lawful category as opposed to sebastian who is more chaotic.

The more I watch this plotline, the more I think about "Against the Cult of the Reptile God". I've never had a chance to play it, but this is so awesome so far, and I haven't even gotten to the "Massacre" part yet! Also, Rudi, Wilhelm, and Wrath are growing on me.

fun fact. up till about the late 1750s a boy as young as 15 could be drafted into the armed forces, most cases were kept off the battle field or otherwise noted as a noncombatant. unless they had a weapon in hand and start using it.

I agree with you in one part and disagree with another. The rules are a terrific character quirk. However going ‘full murder hobo’ is probably one of my most loathed things that players do. Murder hobos are in my opinion the lowest form of DnD player, and when players show tendencies of murder hobos, I either talk with them and we resolve it, or their booted from the game

I've loved Monty's knowledge of Medieval landcape and economics right from DoD. It gives the campaigns a very grounded feeling.

It was a very strong episode with gripping story, diverse NPCs and lots of great role-playing! Wrath's acting as Linus, often used Disguise Self (Mask of Many Faces is an excellent choice for this campaign), the Invisibility spell, Wilhelm's investigation, the interaction with the elves - well done! A little thing to mention: Jillian, according to the rules, Rudy cannot cast Shield spell if she holds weapon in both hands (due to the somatic component of the spell). That is why Eldritch Knights usually pick up War Caster feat... of course if Monty allows it, I keep my mouth shut. Ah and Kelly, remember that Wilhelm is Lucky, maybe put three cards or tokens in front of you, representing the luck points.

Is it possible to stow the weapon away no action required and then cast shield? Because i do remember you can draw your weapon and then attack as part of the same attack action

@@legendarydigitize2523 Nope, because Shield is a reaction spell, and you are using that not in your turn (but when you are hit in someone else's turn), so there is no possibility to stow your weapon and cast Shield spell.

Not having watched this in a long time, I think Wrath forgot that as an Aasimar, he is resistant to Radiant damage, even when it's self inflicted by Radiant Consumption used at 2:00:13 . So even though this would have done 3 damage to him, it should have been reduced to either 1 or 2 points. This sort of thing truly matters when one's HP is very low as his was at that point.

Thinking the same, Monty’s style is very warhammer-ish minus the burning of the heretics. Even the rats feel a bit tyranids in the fact that the delirium has evolved them and changed them. Plus they fight as a pack.

I noticed you don't really expand on the other religions of the setting other than The Light and the evil gods we've seen. Is the Sacred Flame / Falling Fire so dominant that pretty much all clerics are clerics of light in the three nations the setting deals with?

Amongst humans in this in this region of the world, the Sacred Fire is the dominant religion. The Sacred Fire holds a staunchly monotheist worldview, asserting that the other "gods" are demonic forces and that the the only divine entity worthy of worship is the Light.

However that does not mean that all Clerics are “Light Domain” Clerics. It is easy to say that each of the domains (except Death, Nature and Knowledge) are sects within the greater auspices of the Sacred Flame. War domain, Order, Light, Healing, Twilight and Peace are all viable within the confines of the Sacred Flame.

Shield, Absorb Elements, Misty Step, and Shatter are my favorite picks. Thunderstep and Counterspell for level 3. Dimension Door and Storm Sphere for your one 4th level spell per day. Find Familiar should eventually make it into your list too.
