I really expected Will to go with the "wisdom is knowing that Frankenstein is the real monster" approach to that retcon, not doubling down 🤣

Ok but they’re completely correct that Frankenstein is a correct way to refer to the “monster,” at least going off of the original book. Victor Frankenstein (not Dr. Frankenstein, he does not have a doctorate, he’s a college dropout) never named his creation, the only name he has is the last name he’d inherit from his deadbeat dad. To call the creation a monster is disrespectful, he’s not a mindless monster, he’s a person who’s fully intelligent. The creation can be referred to as Frankenstein and it is correct, anyone who corrects by saying “Frankenstein is the doctor” is incorrect because Victor is not a doctor, he’ll be called by his first name like everyone else because he has one and does not have a doctorate.

He's still a monster because he murdered a kid for no reason

Well actually.... Mary Shelley's vagueness concerning the name of Victor's creation was a device used to inspire the reader to ask the question: "who's the monster and who's the man?" A question of the duality of man that is a repeated theme in numerous examples of classic literature which also include Victor Hugo's The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Robert Louis Stevenson's Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

So glad that Jimmy and Freddie can try to one-up each other now It's a very fun dynamic that I don't think we would have gotten (to this degree) if Jodi was played by anyone else

I know they've stated multiple times that this isn't really a DnD podcast, and a lot of the time I'm fine with that, but HOLY SH*T! You're getting paid to do this! Just pick up the fucking PHB, one of you! The rules and the dice rolls are what add stakes to the narrative! Like, I get that Freddie and Anthony do a lot of work between DM prepping and editing the podcast, but can no one else really be bothered to actually read their actual class abilities? Like, I started playing when I was 12, when we were just at DnD 3.0, and I was picking up that much more complicated rules set just fine. These guys had a whole fan base of people telling them things, as well as many third party resources (a la KZbin videos and forums) to help them figure things out.
