marketing was horrible :/ worst offense is probably the title itself. if they just named it something more universal (and added: "a D&D story" as a secondary title) it for sure would have done better. There so many crap movies coming out and so many boring movies getting sequels that do not need sequels but would love a sequel of this DnD movie or even a new one with a different story as long as these actors make appearances. I really enjoyed this movie and it the kind one can watch over and over. Tired of good or great movies being ignored because of bad marketing. Movies get rebooted and remade over and over its getting soo old but DnD is new and has endless potential and endless stories. For a beginning this movie was great. This is a gold mine for stories and movies

I 100% agree. It’s also tapping into the LOTR nostalgia that is kicking in for many now that the trilogy is 20 years old. I’d love another one but with better marketing. Everything else (the casting, writing, practical effects etc) was amazing already

I think the best possible way they could make a sequel to this masterpiece is by having the same main 'PC' cast play a whole new set of characters. It would be as though the same players are starting a new campaign in the same world. They might even run across one of their characters from the first movie, played by someone who vaguely resembles them.

If they keep the same originality they had in this movie for another DnD movie then yeah I am really looking forward to it. *But* in my opinion the next movie should have completely new characters and the old characters should have a little scene as side characters at most. Both in classical movie-writing style and in the sense of a DnD adventure their character arcs and campaign is over and we pretty much saw all they can do from a fighting/magic point of view so I feel if they were main characters again the movie would be pretty stale and worn-out. It's a bit of a shame for the actors though since they were pretty good. Maybe they could just play new characters? :D Would fit the DnD theme with players just starting out with new characters!
