Do not mess with Pixies, is my best advice, today I talk about Pixies, Sprites and Aridni (which can be found in The Tome of Beasts), and how they differ from each other.

The big problem is, at least here in the US, we don't have choices regarding internet providers. We can't say "you're service sucks, I'm going somewhere else for internet." The big carriers have rigged the system so they can do what they want. If they want to throttle service to certain sites unless you the customer pay a premium, there is nothing we can do to stop them. Republicans here in the US have been trying for years to screw the people in this regard and now that they have a willing lackey in the white house, they have finally been able to work their betrayal.

Fairy’s and pixies, like insects, can lift things heavier than themselves meaning they can have a sword 10 Times taller than themselves, check out shadiversitys vid on pixies and fairies. Lol Add there speed and they become a ridiculous super weapon.

If I were a D.M. and the players characters were small or tiny creatures, I would use the varient encumberance rule, but I would also let most of their starter equipment, expecially clothes and armor, weagh proportionally less, because it was designed for people their sise. I would exclude weapons from having this sise varient however, because I feel like a smaller weapon would do less dammage, and I don't want to hande the calculations or contriversy of nerfing that. If they had an extrademetional space to store stuff in however, anything inside it I would consider weahtless.

Always found Faeries quite interesting, and fun to play with. When I have used them I quite liked using the seelie, and unseelie court idea, in which each group/sub-race of Faerie is associated with different times of the time, as well as season of the year, and which also affects somewhat their mindset/personality. Normally the Seelie-court (spring, and summer) fairy races are much more vibrant an do play many largely harmless pranks, while the unseelie-court (fall and winter) fairies are much more drab or dark that play a bit more dangerous pranks. Normally in the courts each group/court takes control of the kingdom in a 3 month cycle, during which the kingdom changes to suit that groups outlook. In the ancient times by fairy legend seasons did not happen, and were a byproduct actally of the changing of the court. Yet in one campaign i had a group of large-folk had disrupted the court a lead to the summer seelie court taking direct control, and being able to retain that control leading to the surrounding area to wither as the nature energy could not be renewed over the course of the fall an winter court's control.

I have a fey based potion of healing that works just like a normal potion but temporarily changes something cosmetic about the character that drinks it. Usually the hair color of the character changes to match the color of the potion which can be any color. Any other type of cosmetic changes can occur. Examples include eye color, skin tone, hair color or something more drastic. This could be your ears changing to animal ears or growing a thin coat of fur or sprouting a tail. All the effects are temporary except the effects of the healing potion. My players have generally loved these minor pranks. The fairies find it hilarious and may watch to see if the players use them while invisible.

tho according to a realistic analysis of the faeries and their kind, they cannot exactly do damage at all. the only weapons they might be able to use are long rapiers and even then it creates way too much air resistance for them to be actually efficient in battle. certainly bows that they are often predicted with are completely inefficient in their hands, they simply do not have enough strength to make needle size arrow actually cause harm with a bow fit for a doll.

I ran a Pixie campaign once (90s, 2nd Ed). It was supposed to be a fun little distraction from our usual gaming for a couple missions. We ended up doing it for about a year. Great video as usual AJ.

Thac0:16 equals a +4 to hit bonus, which base d20 as each point on the die being 5% and 20 is 100%. A .. Thac0:16 , .. +4 to hit becomes a +20% bonus on skill % rolls to hit. So it is not too difficult to move AD&D pixies into 1990's game of T.M.N.T. or Robo Tech. Then WotC D&D/Star Wars came with the same gaming system. If you think Star Trek next generation character .. Q .. was bad, set lose a dozen pixies on a star destroyer to prank on Darth Vader. Pixie with Hat of Alter Shape, gender swapping major chaotic neutral/good pixie played as crazy as you can get the act down. While the other play has to role play Vader as serious as a heart attack. Vader can see pass the pixie invisibility with his See Force/ Sense Force skill ckecks, .. but Vader is the Only One to see & hear the pixies. While everyone on ship is getting written up on report for .. misplacing .. equipment.

Vader and a hundred storm troopers case Luke & Leia into Castle Ravenloft .. god I never had so many horrific deaths as a storm trooper. If you had AC:3 plate mail +4 atk bonus and only 12hp .. how long do you think you last will with only a +3/+1 saves. " all magic and poison kills you, and your Will save is non existent to resist Fear checks." Then we ran multiple player groups at the same time and one player pulled the card to play Strahd. It was three groups of T.M.N.T. and four Wolverines .. Strahd player shouts, " Dam it, I just got the place fix from last time. !" The dak powers of the realms of dread ( D&D dungeon masters) like to provoke Strahd's sense of order by throwing in disorder in the form of the T.M.N.T. Something about a teenager foot ball victory dance going into the Can Can dance, Surfing down the grand stair case on large steel shields. Han Solo, " I been from one side of the galaxy and to the other, I seen a lot of strange things. But the longer I'm around you Luke and the Princess the stranger my life gets." 2.) We each had ten players take 5 minute turns role playing Vader dealing with pixies, it got so bad Vader had to make a Sanity check and he failed. The random chart stated the PC shoots themselves in the head on their next action. Imperial officers had to make moral check from seeing Vader having a break down screaming at invisible/imaginary pixies and shooting himself in the head. New player to the group, " Did we just killed Vader ?!" Other old time players, " Not yet other than dmg to the side of the head, we now have to subtract the DR: damage reduction of his helmet from sith alchemy, material hardness, material helmet hit points, follow with Vader's natural Force Feat: Dissipate Energy." New players, " You guys are a bunch of weird nerds !" Other female crazy player, " We are just getting started ! " .. evil manic laughter .. End result Vader shoots himself multiple times till he crushes his pistol in his hand and throws it aside. . When he looks out the view port he see a vision of a group on twenty something year old nerds playing an RPG dice game where everything he just went through cause they where F-cking with him as in a game. Then .. Q .. from Star Trek next generation pop up behind him and whispers into his ear ... " What soo little you Know about reality." New player, " You guys just can't DM your own NPC into a game like this ! You are breaking the rules !" Other female crazy player, " The game we play is called Breaking the 4th Wall ! " We also had a guy with a Deadpool mask and shirt that walked around with an Infinity Gauntlet and tv remote, who starts a game of " Lets tell Leia Vader is her father and see how Vader deals with it." b.) Start of one Star Wars campaign, since some fan theory that Indian Jones was Han Solo carbonite sleep dream cuase if you look close enough you can find Star Wars Easter Eggs through out all the Indiana Jones movies. Where or not Solo said in RofJ movie after being pull from carbonite said he had a strange dream. After Empire, .. Q .. or Deadpool with Infinity Gauntlet snaps his fingers and Leia SKywalker is arguing with uncle Owen about going to the imperial academy. And for some reason Prince Luke Organa finds himself standing in a white dress when his step sister and hand maiden Winter walks into the room. After being capture by Vader and Tarkin ask Prince Luke if he has anything he like to say in regards to his place in the Rebelion leadership, Luke says no but ask Tarkin if he or Vader ever had any dreams about being on a swamp planet with a little talking green skin gnome with big ears ? After wards another high ranking imperial officer ask Vader how hard did he strangle Princes Organa during interrogation, cause that young man seems to have some off putting brain damage or did he always have idle mindedness ? -- side note the player made that statement in the tone of BDSM with a high pitch prissy voice.

Feeding the algorithm, .. For DMs that don't want players RPG pixies, sprites, and other fairies cause they are deem too powerful. Just remember a 10th-level wizard can create magic items to cover nearly every single fairy spell-like ability. So a 5d8hd pixie fits right in with a 10th-level party.

There are several questions that I need answered if it's not too much trouble. Can an astral dragon become a dracolich? Can dragons be thrown into the abyss for any reason, such as divine punishment? Can a dracolich's phalactery also be tossed into the abyss? Can a dragon be turned, or ascend/descend, into a demonic dragon? If so, who or what in the Abyss would do such a thing? Is it possible for it to rise to power as a demon lord? I'm...weaving a story together. The end goal I'm aiming for is that the demonic dragon (elder brother) safeguards the phalactery of the dracolich (younger brother) somewhere within its own body while it rules over its own realm in the abyss.

Iv seen so many contradictions on how tall they are. The pixie mm entry says “Standing barely a foot tall” unclear if they mean barely as just over or just under. Yet their strength and con is on par with that of a rat, despite being the size of a cat. 3.5 says “A pixie stands about 2½ feet tall and weighs about 30 pounds” Other sources this video included say all sprites are less than a foot tall. Most art and fantasy depictions of pixie or sprite have them be the size of their associated insect. So a pixie is the size of a butterfly. Think tinker bell squeezing through a lock and sleeping in a flower. Or such art as using a needle like a lance ridding a hummingbird and holding a drop of morning dew like a hamburger. The smaller the better when it comes to pixies! A world as viewed through the eyes of someone so small that ants are dogs to them praying mantis are predators, and a hollowed out apple makes for a humble home, lives in a world that to us is just as fantastical as the feywilde. Think about how much there is to see when you’re smaller than a rat and fly faster than a person? No wonder the world is such an exciting place

In the feywild, size can take a back seat to story, as can the flow of time and other rules of physics.. so, someone can sleep for two hundred years without ill effect, someone can spin silver cloth from collected moonlight.

2nd-level arcane spells, Enlarge/Reduce and Alter Self which effect mass by 50%, then follow with 4th-level spell Polymorph which depending on the edition increases a creature size by one category such as small to medium or medium to large. And there is a big difference in feet from large to huge. Also Polymorph can turn a person into a sail or frog. Another problem players had with their DM., Polymorph only effects a given creature and not their equipment. Strange twist on the Aura on Size, regarding to mass Shrink spells. Your PC and their equipment was turn into mouse size being, if you fire an arrow or drop you sword, it returns back to normal size once fired or dropped. Or roll 1d6 on a 1 or 2 the item instantly returns to size once separated from PC, on 3 to 6 it takes 1d4 rounds till object returns to normal size. Also back in 1stE & 2ndE, fairies could Bestow Curse and the wording of the text left it up to the players/ DM how it went. Such as turning a minotaur hair into long strand shaggy bright pink hair with Bestow Curse placed on Polymorph Other. So if and when a PC returns back to normal size their +4 magic sword could remain in pixies size. People hate dealing with pixies the same way they hate the Wish spell, it just gives the DM free range to bleeping mess with the PCs.

Kind of crazy, just last night I decided that I would run a faerie one shot. The plan is that I will let the players each choose a different type of Elf (inspired by a recent Unearthed Arcana), and somehow they would have ended up in the feywild. I thought it might be an interesting chance to encourage some role play while having a sort of crazy story. I hadn't chosen what fey I wanted to use yet, but this video feels encouraging that I need pixies, might add some nice surprises. My otherwise thought is that I think they have been drawn into some game by an archfey, sort of in a meta sense, and need to think what the pieces would be that either an archfey would set up as a game and what might be caught in the middle. Pixies easily missed I think might be an interesting accidental or not voluntary part of a bored creatures game.

I have decided on some of what I want to include. Escorting an elderly gnome who is secretly a Redcap who will murder the occupants. Retrieving ingredients which will see the players unwittingly pull apart a pixie village. Going to dinner at a hag's place, who is just an old lady, the real hag I think would be a Sea Hag in a pond or something. And a village where they will do cliché missions like defend it from bandits, but the whole thing is dripping in artificiality, where everyone including the bandits are just kidnapped randoms being forced by some sort of fey to play their roles, but I have not decided on a fey that could be threatening while staying hidden unless the players try to find them. Looking at the book right now, maybe a Korred, though it is a bit strong. I have decided that the Archfey's name is "Dii'Em The Game Master". I need some more ideas of cliché missions where I can twist it with some sort of Fey presence, hopefully with some variety, and some choice of paths, like an almost condescending directions by the Archfey. I might have to make up the remaining ones. And I am also just trying to decide on feats or ability score improvements to the 4th level characters, with either role playing or balancing traits. Along with deciding if I should increase the character roster by including a Dusk Elf as a rogue, and a Revenant as a paladin. They are not really normal, and I would probably have to include more roleplaying restrictions for why a Dusk Elf is out of Barovia, and Revenant not remembering its past so it is not just something like another High Elf.

My only chance to play D&D so far was one session where I was a pixie and thoroughly annoyed my party by luck alone. We were tasked to escape the prison as it was our first session and we were to start as captives. Every normal sized or greater member of out party continued to fail over and over again in their rolls..... Myself and another Pixie however managed to keep succeeding to the point out Dm had to describe my Pixie using an ability to shift her fingers into claws and scratching out the eyes of multiple Orc Guards with utter success... Our fellow members were none to pleased to fail but everyone laughed their arse off. Sadly we never could make scheduling work for us all.

LONG AGO in the distant past or three or four years ago, AJ Started his foray into making youtube videos by making Dungeon terrain and creature miniature sculptures, for which he used many gluesticks (both hot melt and regular stationary stick style gluesticks), the name stuck but the content changed, now the TMG can also mean, The Monster Guy :)

I Would have liked to have seen Fey folk as a playable race in Volo's Guide to Monsters, with Pixies, Sprites, and Irridis as subrace options. (Sadly they aren't included in Volo's thoguh.) ... We have goblenoids, the steriotypicly evil fey as officially playable. why not faries, the striotypicaly good fey.

Does anyone have any idea what this guy is saying? Fairy.. Pixie.. Sprite..and.. WHAT? Origgnee? Originny? Ridney? Rittany? Aridknee? Auto captions has all kinds of ideas, Google has no idea, comments apparently haven't noticed and I sure as shit have no idea and I really wish people making videos about stuff would actually clarify wtf the stuff is they're making the video about! Does he even know what he's saying? I've spent a stupid amount of time trying to figure something so simple out its pissing me off.

Well there is the Atomie ( forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Atomie ) and the Aridni are very obscure, as are the Oread (mountain fey).
