Thanks ever so much for playing these D&D board games ... I personally own 3 of them and wish I could find someone to play them with ... after watching your playthroughs ... I just might have to do some more soloing of them myself.

Temple of Elemental Evil was the first to introduce campaign elements from the beginning. Tomb of Annihilation and Dungeon of the Mad Mage carried it on, with slight changes. All 3 are good choices, DotMM is the most polished being the last full game, but the minis in ToEE are probably my favorite. They are all good IMO, I try and pull one of the adventure system games out every month. They are really a great value for someone wanting to add minis for other purposes, like RPGs or wargaming. The first four can be grabbed for under $50 sometimes on sale... If you were buying for the minis alone, that's just about $1 per, with the bonus of getting a game to play. The quality of the minis improved with ToEE, still PVC but way better than the first three bendy boys (I believe that's when WizKids took over production?). Also, don't be afraid to house rule these games, that was kinda the point with them. Make them your own. We always roll to see if you even draw an encounter card. We also don't even bother with encounter cards once a villain is in play.

Thanks for playing this game. I sold several of the ones I had without playing them. Now I'm going to have to buy them again. They look like really fun challenging games! Thanks

At the end of this adventure you face the Klak, he has an artefact you need to destroy. I killed him and ended up standing there trying to hit the artefact after all the monsters were dead. I died to drawing 3 encounters which damaged 2-3 each time standing on an empty board. It’s feels like drawing a card that says “Cos all monsters are dead a meteor suddenly splodes you.” IMO it’s just crappy design. The game feels untested, there is so much ambiguity in the rules and cards in beggars belief.

I find your continued criticism of this game extremely tiresome. You utterly fail to acknowledge the audience it was aimed for and why this trilogy of games was released in the first place. It was used as a loss-leader to get players into the D&D world. It was also just before FFG started to up the ante with the quality of components. It was around this time FFG started re-releasing games. Card and component quality that we take for granted now was not so prevalent back then.

So there is no way I should expect that the publisher should have improved the rulebook, components, etc. in any of the many print runs they have sold over the last 13 years? If they want to keep printing the exact same game from 2010 in 2023, I'm going to compare it to other games available right now on the same shelves where I would spend my 2023 hobby dollars. I would look at it different if it was an out of print game that was not sold anymore. FYI - I will continue to play it and enjoy it and also dislike aspects of it. I will not pretend this game is perfect, that I am the intended audience, or that the current year is 2010. So I recommend you don't watch anymore of our playthroughs of any games from this series. Thanks for watching and providing your feedback.

@@StephenWestrip I am not going to be fake for anyone and I can't please everyone. I have to be me. Thanks for your support.

@@RobsGamingTable I get that but consider toning down the language in your reply. Doesn’t have to change your values and what you do but to tell a Patreon supporter not to watch. Come on, that is not on. You have your wish though. I won’t watch your channel ever again.

@@StephenWestrip I don't want anyone watching anything that offends them. That is why I sometimes warn people at the start of series not to watch if it's there favourite game, because I am going to be critical from my point of view and say things about a game they might not like. Not every piece of content I make can please everyone, hence why I asked you to avoid that series. We just bought the next 2 D&D games in that series and plan to play much more. I would have lost you eventually. 😆 I know there are many tabletop gaming channels out there to choose from and I know you will find one that fits your tastes more. Thank you for everything and all the best.
