Dunkeld MTB Birnam Hill MTB First Visit

The trails at Birnam Hill next to Dunkeld are amazing. Fast and flowy or fast and technical either way they are fast! After spending over an hour wandering the hill lost, I eventually found the trails...mind you I wasn't complaining as I got to see some truly beautiful scenery. The trails I did were Electric Beaver, fast and flowy with small jumps and rock rollers. Then Pink Floyd which has a very fast beginning straight and then turns to the right into the woods with berms and more very fast straights. Then finally I did Rake and Ruin a more technical trail with a very steep rocky roll in and lots of rocky drops and loose rocks on corners...it was still a very, very fast trail and my favourite one of the day. Unfortunately, because I wasted so much time lost to begin with I didn't have time to do Doug and Dans Trails which are near to Electric Beaver but I'll be back to check them out. I highly recommend you give these trails a go they are brilliant.

That is the three trails I would like to do when I next visit Dunkeld, have been to different parts of other trails but and always said I would ride these next time but never got round to it, probably be next year due to more travel restrictions, but defo on list of to do trails, enjoyed this video Donald, it's good to see someone with similar riding skills/experience taking on trails, have done Atholl hill trails also worth a shot ,cheers! 😁🚵‍♂️🤙

@@muddymongoosemtb9873 Well as usual Donald I made life difficult for myself by taking the wrong path up Atholl hill, took me ages hike a biking only to discover the trail I thought would be easy "The real cave pass" had been chewed up by forestry works 😂, anyhoo made my way back to road at bottom of hill, found forest road going up and rode a couple of trails, mainly one called "Yer Maw" which done on an xc full suss and managed, would like to try again on my current bike, better geometry and handling but overall enjoyed it, muddy and steep in bits but rideable, few trails couldn't manage but have progressed since then so who knows, would recommend 😁👍

Ebike Xplorer MTB glad to hear I’m not the only one who takes the wrong paths!😂😂👌 Ive heard the Yer Maw trail is meant to be good. I’ll need to give it a go. I bet with your added experience and new bike you’d ride it well.
