Dunkeld with Ricardo - Dalmarnock Woods - Dunkeld MTB

Had a great day with ‪@RicardoPetrazzi‬ at Dalmarnock Woods near Dunkeld. It was a challenging day due to the slippy conditions. Some parts of the trails were very grippy but others were very sodden and mushy which made me a bit nervous. Ricardo was riding well on his hardtail and was making it look easy! Another top day at Dunkeld my favourite place to ride.

Thanks for meeting up with me to give those trails at Dunkeld a try. It was a great wee adventure. Next time, we gotta try that steep section we gave a bum steer!. I'll definitely bring the Full Sus next time, as long as I ain't broke it again and it's not in the repair shop 😂

Yeah, was a good day. I'd like to give that steep bit on Snakebite a shot too, preferably when it's dry though!🤣🤣 You rode well that day, especially on your hardtail. Would be great to get back out on the trails again with you at some point mate. 😀🤙🤙🤙

I was making it look a lot worse than it is.🤣🤣🤣 To be fair it was very slippy. Dunkeld is brilliant, we should go there, you'll love it mate.

Good to see you back out on the trails. Some tricky looking sections there. I’m heading up that way next month I think though probably Birnam Hill side

Cheers Ross, they're not too bad it was very slippy that day even though it doesn't look to bad on the video the mud was very greasy. In the dry they'd be great to go down. Birnam is great fun. Dunkeld area is my favourite place to ride, so much variety of trails so close together and pretty natural stuff too.👌🤙🤙🤙😃

How would you say this is compared to the opposite side of Dunkeld across the river? Looks a bit more rideable, although still techy well ridden over the steep roots sections, well done Donald and thanks for sharing!

I'd say it's similar difficulty to Birnam Hill on the trails on this video but there are other more difficult trails there too. These trails will be great in dry conditions but they were very slippy and that's what made them tricky. I've also since switched to wild enduros as my tyres were slipping more than I would have liked. Cheers Gary 😀 🤙
