This is exactly what I'm looking for, a basic run with explanations on how you make decisions. I know there's a lot of secrets and exploits that could have made you even stronger, but I appreciate you keeping it reasonable to follow.

where are the secrets
@stevennixon6467
@stevennixon6467 Жыл бұрын
@@almostcompletelyrandomcontent The run in this video kept it to straight-forward wand building and gameplay. Most secrets/ ways to become powerful come from defeating bosses or exploring very specific, out-of-the-way areas. Most of these secrets/ bosses require that the game give you specific tools, and every run usually enables a few of them. For example, there is a biome buried under the surface somewhere absolutely full of wands. You need reasonable digging to get there, and should be strong/skilled enough to avoid tons of explosions and acid. They're not easy ways to become powerful, but they are high-risk high-reward options.

i think the coolest thing about noita is that it's world is certainly boxed in and separated into levels, but it's design philosophy is very similar to that of terraria and minecraft, and these barriers are only temporary as long as you havent found the spells to bypass them (or you get lucky and a worm just eats the terrain between levels)

When it comes to the Jungle, I find it's where the run makes or breaks according to your perks and wands. Up until this point, you can slowly whittle enemies down and duck into cover. There are less instakills than Hiisi Base (thank you, random nuke wand wielded by a Hiisi) but there are a LOT of medium threats. If the Frozen Depths or Hiisi Base doesn't kill you on your first good run, the Jungle will. This is partially because those previous two levels are already really dangerous, making a lot of new players rush through them, leaving their wands too weak. The enemies are suddenly pretty beefy, and the two new Hiisi enemies (Poisoner and Minelayer) can be extremely oppressive by matching your range with a LOT of damage. Without a machine-gun or trigger-burst wand you'll soon get swarmed. Then, you'll start seeing your first "Master" enemies (unless you went in a side-biome) which can completely shut-down an inexperienced player (or the Master of Twitching causes you to shoot yourself in the face). While you fight all that, you have to deal with *the* most flammable level in the mountain. On the flipside, the Jungle is great for experienced players due to having a lot of treasures, being the place where the wands start getting really good, and likely where you'll start encountering the *Master of Meatball.*

Just got my first decent run going... died in jungle not from feeling weak but from a random tiny pool of polymorph. I had a pretty strong luminous drill going that run hurt to lose. Maybe by my 50th death I'll win a run this game is brutal no lie.

"If the Frozen Depths or Hiisi Base doesn't kill you on your first good run, the Jungle will." I actually feel like the jungle isn't too bad, I've survived both of the encounters I've had with it so far, Hiisi base feels like the real run killer. Close quarters where you can get swarmed from all directions and die in various unfortunate ways. Meanwhile, The jungle enemies are tough but fair, and if you managed to get through Hiisi base, you are likely prepared in terms of skill, though horrible RNG could still mean your wand will not do enough damage to kill.

Note to beginners: The devs will probably deny this but propane cannisters, i am 90% sure have some form of homing. You see, sometimes, they'll start flying when you hit them to take them out from a distance. Take cover and pray if they do. Cuz they'll hit a dozen obstacles as they bump their way, sliding across walls, only to detonate...on your face.

This guide has saved me from near uninstalling in frustration for the nth time. I actually got outside of the main game for the first time and my mind was blown. I went from getting salty that my runs were only lasting 4-30 minutes at best. Now with this last run: i was basically playing non-stop for hours and hours just grinding away, getting really strong wand combos and facing enemies that used to bewilder and terrify me in Noita. I crave more. Thank you DunkorSlam.

The keys to the kingdom for me watching your videos and getting my first few wins more than anything else was just seeing how to use triggers effectively. You find lots of spells as a new player that seem like they totally suck but make a lot more sense when used on a trigger payload. A lot of good info in this video but that was the biggest one for me.

One thing I really like about Noita is the amount of information that you pickup throughout. It feels like there is always something new to learn and that mystery is what makes the game so good. I usually avoid tutorial videos, but I have been looking at a few to get a bit better at the game sooner. EDIT: I stopped watching as soon as you got to the jungle since I have never been there.

It's the only modern game I like because 1. The mechanics are crazy deep and 2. It's so hard to find good information about it such as guides secrets etc. Even the guys who have thousands of hours know there's still stuff to be found. Part of what I used to like about games was the mystery. What crazy cheat codes have the devs put in. Etc etc. Nowadays games are data mined sometimes before they've even released properly. And everything about the game is known. There will be a wiki explaining everything in depth. And when it's like that, I'd rather just save my time and read the information or watch a video rather than play the game. I really appreciate that even when I want to cheat with Noita and check the wiki, there's hardly any info anyway.

Your videos and explanations have helped me so much. In the Mines I had a pretty good start before a bomb blew up right in my face. I almost restarted immediately but I moved on, healed, and ended up using a chainsaw and spell wrapping to create my first machine gun wand, which spammed lightning bolts and pushed me backwards into the water in a holy mountain, killing me instantly on my current run I have Electricity, fire and explosion immunity, and a wand with electric arc that spams pairs of bouncing bolts in all directions and generally deletes anything in sight, including my first encounter in the dragoncave

Great guide! Noita really doesn't tell you much, so it's nice to see the community fill that gap. Data point of one, but I got my first win right after watching this guide. Before this, the deepest I'd made it was Hiisi Base. I think a big part of that was luck - I got No More Shuffle and Concentrated Spells - but I wouldn't have known how good those were without this guide. Oh yeah, and the tip at 50:13 probably saved the run multiple times.

I think one of the simplest tip you demonstrated but didn't use is simply "Do not blow everything up whenever you can" It's so logical but as a "gamer" you enjoy blowing things up, so one good tip is to actually not shoot at every single barrel you encounter. I think 80% of the health you lose in the first levels as a new player is due to poison or fire. And it generally comes from hazard the player provoked in the first place

17:48 was the tip that pushed this video over the edge from 'useful' to 'THANK YOU!' I knew lower recharge time equaled faster casting loops, but could never quite pin down what was acceptable, because I wasn't sure if other factors were slowing things down or speeding them up. Just having a good target number to go off of is more useful than you know, and it's the kind of information that just kind of gets glossed over in a lot of videos. Thank you!

The giant spitter bolt wand in the jungle had a mana charge value of over 1000, so wouldn't that mean that as soon as you cast a spell; as long as it's within the max mana of the wand, that it would be instantly recharged? Making it an absolute beast of a wand?

I'm over a hundred hours in and I've always had to use mods to make the game easier, but I just had one of my best runs where I made one of my most broken wands ever. Admittedly, it was just a trigger spell, a boat load of modifiers, multicast, and some chaff, but I was so pleased with how far I made it; I actually beat a couple side bosses! I'm finally taking off the training wheels and disabling some of my mods.

Overall, I'd say that this is better as a refresher course rather than something aimed towards people that are still new somewhat to the game. It adds more for people who understand the basics but haven't noticed the vaguer mechanics and strategies. Most of the information provided works upon the presumption that the receiving person already understands all of the the fundamentals of the information presided. Basically, this feels more like content for people that are stuck on the mid-game rather then for people that are still early game players. Overall, good video, just not aimed at the intended audience.

shuffle wands can be good. especially multicast(anything above 1 cast) as they usually boast more base stats compared to non-shuffles you can get a crazy shuffle wand if you know some wand building. it specifically doesn't work with chainsaw and triggers but some wands with the crit on bloody/damage plus bubbles is almost as reliable as chainsaw double cast sparkbolt as you fire less shots but without an add mana deal probably way more damage and have way lower wand requirements. but proper shuffle builds are kind of fringe and are usually not as good as a trigger builds or even a multicast build with organized modifiers... as you can't always find those modifiers or a 2+ cast wand that is usable.

I'd love a video about your favorite wand combos, or combos you don't see that often that you think are better than average

Ah, i've been playing for awhile (already have some wins) but for some reason i hadn't noticed the extra damage you get from the goofy spells to add to the payloads of wands. I had been more reliant on high fire rate or some of the well known combos like pingpong lumi. Knowledge to turn some of these more seemingly useless patterns useful will help.

Please upload more videos on KZbin or make restream channel, some of us can't make the twitch streams due to work obligations and you're a very informative and easy to listen to entertainer, I would love more content. I'm afraid I'm close to exhausting most of it and I'll be really sad when I run out. I listen with one earbud in at work and you're very descriptive so it's easy to understand what's going on. Regarding Noita, I wish there was someone who played on controller that could give some tips. I can only really afford to play on steam deck and it's more a less an xbox controller with some touchpads and back buttons. I can't help but feel Noita must be easier on keyboard/mouse but maybe I'm wrong. Thank you for all the content and I hope your are doing well.

I really appreciate the feedback! There’s a content creator named “Let’s Suffer Together” that has thousands of hours in Noita as well and I believe he exclusive plays with a controller if you’re looking for more controller gameplay. As for me posting more videos I will try to post a long video soon!
