The Geomax MX32 (soft-intermediate terrain) and Geomax MX52 (intermediate-hard terrain) tires are the newest motocross tires from Dunlop. The American-made tires were developed in Supercross and motocross competition with riders like Ryan Villopoto. These dirt bike tires have some radical improvements over the previously offered Geomax MX31 (soft terrain), Geomax MX51 (intermediate terrain) and Geomax MX71 (hard terrain). Dunlop has developed them to be more flexible, have responsive sidewalls, and get more traction with their new block-in-block technology. These effectively make the ride more comfortable, and give the rider more confidence with easier steering. Since these tires have been winning at the top level of SX and MX racing, they are obviously effective on the track. The MX32 front and rear combination will cover a wider range of dirt conditions for soft to intermediate surfaces. The MX52 can do the job for anything ranging from a deeply tilled morning practice to late-afternoon blue-groove.

I ran my 52's front and back for the first time last weekend at the track. They hooked up great on my 450. The track has some hard spots, but also a lot of soft terrain and ruts. I think I like them better than my old 51's. Nice tire.

An intermediate-terrain tire sounds like the best bet. They're usually a good starting point and if you realize it could improve in certain areas then you can get a more appropriate tire the next time you purchase. If you're in the sand pits a lot or if your trails are sandy, a soft-terrain or soft/intermediate would be good to try as well. If you are specifically interested in the Dunlops on this video, that would be the MX32. I still have no problem recommending the Pirelli. I'm a trail rider also and have had it on my YZ125 for eight months including at least 12-15 day rides and three 90-minute Grand Prix races. It lasts forever. Love, love, love it. - jc

i ride a kx85 and I'm trying to decide on a tyre, i ride at tracks but there's no saying if its gonna be hard packed muddy or soft or anything really as im from the uk and the conditions change every 5 mins,i also don't really ride at one track and go to a whole range of tracks,it also needs to be as durable as possible even as I'm literally broke and have to buy all my mx stuff myself and I'm 12 so its kinda hard.thx

buschyboy hard pack will last longer. Only real difference is 're lug spacing. I drive through a really good variety of stuff from gravel to sand to pavement to mud to going through rivers. I just ordered the mx52. Curious to see how they preform in the softer stuff with the tighter lugs. I would recommend the michelin starcross mx3's. I just had those on last 2 seasons and they worked awesome the first season but they were pretty wore out the second.

Without knowing a few more details about your riding area it's tough to say, but for all-around trail riding I recommend the Pirelli MX Extra X to almost everyone. It's called the MX Extra J for smaller sizes like your XR100, but it's a phenomenal value tire. Here's a link if you want to check it out - www.motorcycle-superstore.com/43510/i/pirelli-mx-extra-j-rear-tire - jc

i ride a yz85 wheel size is 90/100-14 and i want a tire that goes through soft to mid terrain and last long. my pirelli's i have tore on the knobs after a few rides and need a durable tire, whats your thoughts?
@motorcyclesuperstore
@motorcyclesuperstore 10 жыл бұрын
XxProGamersxX100 What model Pirelli are you using? I put the MX Extra X on my YZ125 and it has lasted phenomenally well - at least 12 hours with minimal wear and no chunking. If you are looking at these new Dunlops, the MX32 is the way to go for soft-mid. I can't say that I have any riding experience on these, however. - jc

i was using the the dunlop 752's i didnt mean to say pirelli's. but what would your choice be? Are there better tires than these for an 85? Or should i go ahead and get the mx32's?
@motorcyclesuperstore
@motorcyclesuperstore 10 жыл бұрын
XxProGamersxX100 Sorry to fall off the wagon there, didn't mean to leave you hanging like that. The MX32 is going to be a great option. It would be great to hear back from you after you ride it. I'm sure our other 80cc riders are curious to know how well they last. Even if you didn't choose the Dunlop, let me know which tire you went with. Sorry again about the lengthy delay - jc

I would recommend the MX52. The MX32 will be too soft for rocks so you won't be able to enjoy the full life of the tire. -Kaitlyn

Okay so im doing a beach race in the next couple months so i'm trying to decide between the MX32 and MX52 as i don't want to buy a sand tyre due to it only being one event. Also most the tracks around me are intermediate to hard. What do you think i should get? Thanks
@motorcyclesuperstore
@motorcyclesuperstore 10 жыл бұрын
***** I'm not the type to buy a tire for a one-off event either. Don't got the funds! If the beach race isn't for a couple months then I'd suggest the MX32. It'll definitely work better for that event and by that time of the year you'll probably be getting some rain so your local tracks will be a little softer hopefully. That's my suggestion. MX32 for the win. - jc
