Push is my go to! One quick tip: instead of copying, clicking the other clip to highlight it green, and then pasting--you can instead just hold 'alt' and drag the transition to the clip you want, and it will duplicate it. It's super fast. You can also use that method to duplicate most anything on the timeline, and if you want to just select one thing in a linked clip (like just the audio or video) without unlinking them, 'alt' and clicking on what you want will allow you to select just that one clip without anything else associated with it. Edit: I learned another quick way to add to multiple: if you select all of the clips you want to apply the transition to, and then click on the edge as if you were going to change the length of all clips, it will highlight ALL of them green along the edge, and then when you paste, it will apply to all of them. This is actually incredibly helpful for me! The green highlight thing to allow paste is new to me though, and will definitely come in handy when I am adding to a bunch of tracks. Thank you!

Very useful, thank you, thank you man for your generosity and time in creating videos like this. I been trying to figure out how to make more use out of the Davinci FX and this video goes a long way to helping me with that goal. I am still on a mission to learn how to get even more creative with fx like glitching, waviness etc. I have tried some of these before but its tough to not end up with something cheesy. Another question I have is this... on my music DAW I have options to create LFO generator effects (sine, square, random etc) that can be mapped to parameters in separate effects to create interesting movements in these other effects... is there a way to do the same in Davinci?

I prefer using Dynamic Zoom with an Adjustment layer instead of keyframing the Zoom. The best part about it is that I can easily make adjustments by modifying the Adjustment layer rather than having to go back and edit the keyframes. To make things more convenient, I have saved it in a Power Bin. 😊
@dunnadidit
@dunnadidit 26 күн бұрын
That can totally be a good one! I personally find dynamic zoom a bit limiting and fidgety, I don’t like that it changes the speed of the zoom based on the length of the clip. But in certain situations it is definitely a handy call.

Hi Dunna, I was wondering, the title cards shown at 1:11 (Push) for example, do you hand-edit the text for every of these cards or is it one master sequence that you use instances of and enter the text via a separate text field?

This specific video is a bit different because I was trying to be cheeky by showing the effect I was going to talk about with each title card. But the push title card is the closest to what I typically use in my videos. All that is is the background on one layer and then a text+ on a layer above. When I need to create more, I just highlight those two clips (background and text) and either copy and paste or opt(alt) drag to copy them to the new location, change the text in the text+ clip and I’m done. Hope that answers your question.

Love the video but I have a question about the resolve transitions on the edit page, Every time I add them to my clips the clip goes black for the time of the transition. Any tips to help me fix this?

Sick background! Prefer it to the old one. PS. Been a while I watched your videos so I can’t tell if this new background is no longer news. 😅

This is the very first video with the plants in the back! So even though I’ve been playing with the same room for a while, it feels new here haha.

a better tip for that zooming adjustment clip, instead of manually using zoom, the use dynamic zoom.

Dynamic zoom can definitely be helpful in some cases but ultimately I find it limiting and kind of annoying to use unfortunately. But if it works for you, then that’s great!
