Dunoon (/duˈnuːn/; Scottish Gaelic: Dùn Omhain [t̪un ˈo.ɪɲ]) is the main town on the Cowal Peninsula in the south of Argyll and Bute, west of Scotland. It is located on the western shore of the upper Firth of Clyde, to the south of the Holy Loch and to the north of Innellan.[2] As well as forming part of the council area of Argyll and Bute, Dunoon also has its own community council.[3] Dunoon was a burgh until 1976.[4]

I bought an old fanclub mug from 80's band Thompson Twins. Their fanclub was called Teefax. When I looked at the bottom of the mug it said made in Dunoon I couldn't believe it.

@outandaboutwithrob Yes. I got it from a friend who was selling merchandise for charity he got it from the woman who ran the club. And it was purchased in the 2000's not way back in the day lol. An American friend bought the other. But I live in Port Glasgow so when I looked at the bottom and saw Made In Dunoon I was shocked. But I've been told there used to be a ceramics place there.

Thoroughly enjoyed this Rob, thank you. Spent a lot of time in Dunoon in the late 80s. Lots of American navy service people there at that time. Lots of cracking pubs, clubs and bars. Was nice to get nostalgic and reminisce. It has changed somewhat in nearly 40 years mind 😂
