Thank you for such a wonderful video. I have never seen such a good video of the inside. I am the 35th generation patrilineal of the Luttrell family. This is so beautiful to see inside of this place. My lineage is from to James Luttrell of Meath Ireland in 1650 coming indentured to the Virginia Colonies of British America… all the Way back to Anton de Luttrell who gave the first recorded account of the current spelling… to Arne de Lutre in 700-756 Hordaland Norway. My family from James, helped found America… Harrodsburg and Danville Kentucky specifically as well as Virginia before that. Earlier generations help found Norway,Ireland,England as well as Parts of Norman France. It makes me extremely proud to know. Our family has fought with William at Hastings as well as With Washington as rearguard at Yorktown. Dunster, Tankardstown, Quantockshead, Irnham, Lundy Isle, and more are a part of my family lineage as well. It gives one a sense of pride and belonging to know my family has been around 1325 years with 35+ generations of this blood coursing through our family. Thanks for the video and awesome information…and most of all reading this while I ramble. 💯🇺🇸❤️

Wonderful walk through the castle! Lots of modern conveniences. Nice to see the furnishings- I noticed the pretty rugs as well as the lovely furniture, wall paper and fabrics, and the hidden passage is very cool! :) 👍👍

Hi David there's almost a thousand years of history on the castle site little is left of the original but what you see is from the middle ages it was revamped and lived in from the 1800s until given to the National trust to preserve, if you venture down to the crypt and cellar's it's very much as you would expect, Thanks very much for watching 👍

We saw the secret passage from above when we took the roof off in 2006. I'm not sure the trust were aware of it before that? It certainly didn't look like it had been opened up for a while.

@glyn829 yes it was but I had a great experience at Calke Abbey tunnels as we was invited down as vip for doing a trial for them and we had the whole place to ourselfs. We had a guide but wow some super creepy noises lol
