I feel like it has to be stated that the mice used in LD50 tests(as far as I could find)are typically the species Mus Musculus(which is one of the most common species of its genus). They typically have a mass of around 40 g. So if something has an LD50 of 10 ng/kg this means that an amount of 0.4 ng is enough to kill half, not 10 ng. Very few species of mice or rats can get to the 1 kg mark and as far as I know, those are not used in laboratory experiments.

what about abrin? Abrus precatorius is supposed to be like 50 times deadlier than castor beans (ricin)
@dmon6709 жыл бұрын
great video! Wasnt the Po-210 injected via umbrella gun though? Could have even been Ricin with a very similar story
@nikkirita99343 жыл бұрын
As fsr as know the question you asked is in relation to riacin from the castor bean in its raw form before cooking. It wasn't Po-210.

The Inland Taipan snake is found all over Australia, mostly on the east coast from the tip of QLD down to Victoria. It's not exactly passive either, it has a bad temper even in winter when not during mating season of summer. I've killed a large number of these snakes as well as coastal tiapans, red belly and yellow-bellied black snakes, King browns and black snakes. Death adders in the area where I grew up as a kid and teenager were in large numbers.

inland taipan is not found on the east coast, it's found inland hence the name. google inland taipan range.
@rickseifert51398 жыл бұрын
I grew up in Cairns far north Qld mate , they are on the coastal areas as well . Verified by the CSIRO many years ago , due to them migrating in containers on railway cars inside of of pallets , piping , also via road freight loads. They are quite prevalent around the atherton tablelands and further out west of that. Considering I've killed many coastal and inland tiapan snakes I do know the difference in their appearance from practical experience of over 30 yrs. I'm going back to my home town of Cairns and the tablelands very soon for reunion of old classmates , doing fishing and hunting. Don't try to inform a local of the area they are found unless you actually live there and have grown up there yourself. When you reach 50 yrs of age like myself and have lived in all states of Australia both on the coast and inland due to work placements , go exploring out in the bush, hunting , prospecting for gemstones and minerals it's unlikely you will see them apart from the internet , museums live displays , zoo's or private snake owners.

I recon the male Sydney funnel web spider would give the Brazilian wandering spider a run for its money.
@MsJubjubbird6 жыл бұрын
Their toxin is less deadly but because they have bigger fangs and hence deliver more venom the funnelweb is more likely to kill you. they also probably have more contact with humans. It's like the taipan doesn't kill as many people as the brown snake because the brown snake see people more

Were it me, I would be far less concerned with conventional weaponry and more so with an attack using bio-methods. It is far easier; and more horrific if you ask me. The menu from which an 'agent' could be chosen is terrifying.
