Hiii, you can use normal microphone for better clarity of your voice recording. If you wear headphones or earbuds while taking the Duolingo English Test, your results will not be certified and you will need to take the test again. Specifically mentioned on the website of duolingo.

you can do free practice from duolingo site and analysis whether it is working properly or not.
