My Father in-law, retired Master Sergeant Nguyen Duc Tan lost half a lung after being hit by a Chinese RPG, when China invaded Cao Bang in 1979. He's an incredibly strong man and has all my respect.

Vietnam in the end had to adopt a foreign policy that was acceptable to China.

War leaves scars on both sides (many American POW's held by the North Vietnamese still suffer from how they were treated).
