DUP50 for IC-705 review test and duplexer vs diplexer discussion.

The DUP50 device allows to connect your HF and VHF antenna to the same antenna port on IC-705 or other HF/VHF/UHF transceiver providing no more than 50W of power output.
It’s called Duplexer on the label, but I think it is a Diplexer. But why is this important, as long as the device does its job? You should know the difference before buying one!

I completely agree and share your interpretation of the correct use of the name in order to identify different equipment with and for different functions. But even reputable manufacturers misidentify diplexers as duplexers, and this has led to widespread confusion in the amateur radio community. 73 CS7AWJ
