I think something that people don't consider when complaining about dupes for Natasha Denona is that for some people it is completely unaffordable. Some people can't afford to buy even one of her palettes- even if it's the only eyeshadow they would own. There are always going to be people who want to see dupes for this reason (and they probably aren't advertising it because they are embarrassed).

Absolutely! Up until just a couple of years ago I had never even looked at higher end products, the websites of indie brands or even YT videos discussing them because those products were completely out of my budget, in a non-negotiable way. Not to mention ordering from overseas and paying shipping + taxes and customs. It's really nice to see dupes as there can be many different reasons why people can't or won't buy more expensive products.

I just received the glam palette for Christmas. I have no high end palettes. Honestly, I don’t understand the hype. It’s nice but the colourpop palette I have has even better mattes in my opinion. Sometimes the name is all marketing. Yay for drugstore!!

If I spend $125 plus shipping to my country for an eyeshadow palette it better turn me from a 5 to a 10! Think about it logically, will a $125 palette give you ten times more happiness than a $12 palette? Is it worth it to spend ten times more on a product you will only like twice as much as the cheaper one? That's not a good enough deal for the vast majority.

I would never spend that kind of money for an eyeshadow pallet, no matter how special I think I am. Colourpop is pretty acceptable or bh cosmetics. I can’t find any logic in that.

As for people moaning that the ND aren't true dupes because of the formula difference - I'm stunned! If a look can be achieved and it very closely resembles a look created with a ND palette, what on earth does it matter????? It's a DUPE! I seriously doubt that anyone can do dupes better than you. The Nars blush stick/Milani lipstick is absolutely genius. You are the Dupe Queen 👸

I love dupes videos! I have had a love affair with makeup and have been wearing it for decades. It wasn't until I was in my mid twenties that I made my firstst high end purchase, and I expected the seas to part and magic to come out of that bottle. 😂😂😂 Back then drugstore makeup was not as comparable to high end as it is today. You can really get great comparable products without breaking the bank. Drugstore is at the top of their game in my opinion.

That Bite Beauty mascara is so amazing. The Elf is not a dupe imho, id call it a similar alternative. For me a dupe is basically the same product but cheaper sans packaging. If you layer it a lot it gives a similar effect as you mention though. But you have to layer 2 or 3 times to get the same effect; the magic of the Bite mascara is that it gives such amazing volume in a quick coat, and that theres so much product in the tube. I have both and wouldnt repurchase the Elf one, because what i look for is a ONE COAT mascara, which Bite is but not elf. That is what a dupe would have to donas well.

Maybelline: the red wooden eyebrow pencil! $2.99 for two on a card, with a pretty good range of colors. You can find it in every grocery store in town! It does need to be sharpened everytime you use it, but it's weirdly hard and creamy at the same time, so I keep a shorter stub in the car, it doesn't melt! I used one last week to write a nastygram to the driver of a car who parked so sloppy I had to climb over the center console of my van from the passenger door. I wrote on the driver's window! I was inside a CVS buying makeup and I needed to get home and rip open my new treasures...I was a woman on a mission!

I actually used a lipstick as an eyeshadow years ago. I couldn’t find a good cruelty free burgundy shadow (at the time), and I could not pull off dark lipstick. It didn’t budge and I never had any issues in my eyes and used a coconut oil to remove it so I didn’t pull my eyes too much cleaning it off. I never really found the shade of burgundy shadow I was looking for. 🧐

When you got to the Tom Ford foundation stick, I was thinking, “I’ve never tried that guy, but I have tried other ridiculously priced foundation sticks, and none of them can touch my Wet-n-Wild stick foundation!.” And here’s another great dupe: No finishing powder can beat the blurring effect, feel, or price of Wet-n-Wild’s loose powder for any imperfections that may peek through any foundation. That translucent powder blows away the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Finishing Powder ( Is that its name?), and the even bougier Chantecaille Blur Finishing Powder.

I don’t use “primer,” but I do prime my skin. I just use witch hazel and then rose hip oil. The rose hip oil is $10.00. So it’s affordable and works really good.
