I hand pollinate pumpkins too. I actually don't bother with brushes or q-tips anymore, I simply pull the petals off the male flowers and apply it directly to the female flowers. The only flowers I use a brush for now are things like passionfruit where all flowers produce fruit, so I take pollen from the flowers and pollinate all of them.

We definitely have less bees in the summer here. They are rather active every other time of the year so helpful to jump in to help pollinate when not so many 💕

Ok Kim! Your garden is gorgeous! Here in Midwest everything dying from drought. The horrific storm last week killed my only flourishing plants my climbing cukes. Thanks so much for reaching us snout watermelons. They are sooo yummy!

I really appreciated the instructions in hand pollinating. I have attempted to hand pollinate squash so it is reassuring to see the process. Fingers crossed the hand pollinating works for my squash!

In early summer I had to hand pollinate many of my squash plants due to lack of bees and it really increased my harvest. Thank you always for the helpful tips and inspiration.

I've been hand pollinating my squash but didn't think to use this method with watermelon! Will be trying this out for sure to get more baby watermelon growing! Thank you for all the helpful tips, your videos have been so helpful as a new gardener! 🌻

I have had such horrible luck with my watermelon this year with this crazy hot Arizona summer I absolutely love your watermelon set up in a smart pots pot. Great lesson on hand pollinating. I've been doing that with my zucchini and it works! I didn't know that repeating the process would assure results so I will do that next time. Thank you for all of your gardening tips!😍

Fingers crossed on my sugar babies…. It took a while for our PNW weather to get hot so my plants are just starting to vine and get flowers.. fall planting already??

I may be hand pollinating my sugar babies since I was late getting them planted….hopefully I will harvest before frost 🤞🤞… Thank you for the informative videos and inspiration you give! I appreciate all you tips. I was able to hand pollinate my sugar baby watermelon. I can't wait to start working on my fall garden. I made a list to keep on track with what type of veges I want to plant and what I need to prepare. I am so excited for fall. From HOT FL.

Thank you always for the helpful tips and inspiration. I had to hand pollinate many of my squash plants this year, due to lack of bees. Now we have lots of sunflowers coming up and getting much more bees. But hand pollinating always helps!

Last Sunday I was also trying to help pollinate our sugar baby water melon for the 1st time. It worked for the crook neck squash! Until now my garden was lacking in pollinators.

I haven’t ever tried to grow watermelon but my brother is growing cantaloupe and they are doing great! That makes me want to try to grow both watermelon and cantaloupe next year.

🌺Love how you keep all your watermelon vines close to the trellis. I’m glad I had pollinators for my vines. It’s my squashes I hand pollinate.

I do hand pollination to all vegetables and melons.This year, I plant hollyhock flowers that help a lot with pollination, too. Awesome giveaway 😊.

I have several melons growing this year. We’ll see if they produce anything. I will be working on trellises for next year. My melons and pumpkins are sprawling all over my front yard. 😊

I started SugarBaby watermelon in a 20 gal Smart Pot from seed ~3 weeks ago. We are on vacation this week. I hope there are blossoms to hand pollinate when we get back!

Love your videos they're so vibrant and informative. Had planned to grow some watermelons this past month, unfortunately my automated watering system failed me for 2 weeks and my plants have shriveled up. Hoping to be able to nurse them back up to be able to flower again. ❤🙏
