I always wondered why nobody did it before us. I mean, old school halftones are beautiful… you think that one art nerd would’ve made halftone brushes this good.
We did make them and it turns out it takes a long time to get halftones right.

Before DupliTone, you either had to make do with the limited default brush capabilities of Procreate or if you were dedicated, export your work to Photoshop and try to collage something together.
Even with all that work, the results are far from authentic. And if you need more intricate tonal variations for shading you just might find the task nearly impossible.
DupliTone was built from the start with classic vintage offset printing in mind. Capture the classic look of print found on consumer packaging, cheap print work, and ephemera.

Very nice is this available for the Affinity Suite? I would recommend making this available for Krita as well it's free and open-source, but many people use it.

Great question! This will be available for Affinity next week (we're still finishing up a few tutorial videos). We'll definitely look into Krita but currently don't have a big enough team to make it for more than the four software companies we currently support.

Hi, I am trying to use the swatch set of this - looking at the tutorial I am getting lost. It says to lock your line work layer, and then create a new layer for halftones and double click the halftone swatch I want to use. When I double click the swatch, nothing happens. Why is that?

Hi there! I'll be happy to assist you in more detail if you could write us at [e-mail]. The quick answer based on my understanding of the question is that you need to move the swatch from the DupliTone file to your document's swatches. You can do this by just clicking on the swatch you want. Then double click the swatch that appears in your swatches panel and it will open up your pattern options. You can change the color from there. Just make sure you're saving a copy!
