Ever wonder how an Incline works? Come take a behind the scenes look at the Duquesne Incline.
Hey everyone, while back in Downtown Pittsburgh, I wanted to make a second attempt at riding the incline. When I first attempted in on my prior trip, the incline was broke down and I was only able to visit the bottom platform station. This time I'm bringing my friends Richard & Kara with me to see if we can make it to the top of this famous attraction. Enjoy

A little known fact is Pittsburgh has more bridges than Venice Italy. Don't remember where I learned that fact, think it was on a tour visiting either the Duquesne Incline or Carnegie Museum. Grew up in Worthington, Armstrong County, PA. Now live in West Palm Beach, FL. Have taken many out of towners on both inclines and all have said view is much better from the Duquesne Incline. Thanks for another trip on this Incline!

I'm so glad that you finally had the chance to ride the Duquesne Incline. It's the better of the two, as you clearly saw. This is the incline that I remember growing up with, and then later taking my son to when he was a child. Side note...Did you know that the Monongahela River flows North ? You probably did. Lol. Once again, I enjoyed watching my old "Stomping Grounds". Makes me homesick...

Three Rivers Stadium was next to the spot where Heinz Field is now. It was imploded in 2001. Heinz Field replaced it for football and PNC Park replaced it for baseball. The first nighttime World Series game was played there in 1971. The following year, it was home to Roberto Clemente's 3,000th hit months before his tragic death. Also in 1972, it was the site of the Immaculate Reception.
