DURACK RIVER CATCH & COOK

Another day another adventure heading to the Durack River and going somewhere I have never had the courage to explore with Rock bars everywhere. It's time to head up the Durack as far as I can go and hopefully catch a Barramundi for dinner. Come along and see how amazing the country just mind blowing.

G'day Dave, You captured the essence of the Durack perfectly. Nature threw up a curve ball with the little barra in the snakes mouth. Dave a bloke at Hinchinbrook Lucinda in NQ lost a dog off his houseboat to a croc and he was within inches near the rail when the croc launched onto his boat he was lucky not to be taken. It is a problem croc and is being targeted for removal. He had another dog on the boat and I would say the croc was after it too. Barra pieces in a creamy Garlic sauce with corn. I love corn on the cob. Yum Yum. Great cook up mate.🎣👌🐟🐊🤙👍😃

Gee the croc story wow 😲. If croc really wants something it will do everything in its power to get it. It’s never a good idea to have a dog in the boat when fishing camping in croc waters. I was up the Fitzroy river in W.A with my dog fishing a long time ago and I nearly had the same thing happen to me, my dog was acting strangely in the boat boat where I was fishing at night and I turned the torch on and a 4m croc was right up along side the boat as I was anchored flicking lures at the back, I turned the motor on and reved the motor and kicked it into great amd swing the boat away. It hit the side of the boat and wend down. I pulled the anchor as fast as I could and went straight back to my camp. I was so lucky. After that I never took my dog fishing at night again. The cook up is an easy way to have something a bit different and really doesn’t take too long either and delicious. Just something different. Really appreciate the comment mate and thank you for watching I’m glad you enjoyed the adventure to the Durack it’s a special place and always come across something new every time. Looks like a lot of fun camping out, catching Barras and cooking tasty meals 😊. Do the sand flies bother you much in the boat. First time I fished the King River land based I got eaten alive by the sand flies and the bites were so itchy they drove me nuts! Covered up after that and copious amounts of Bushman's sorted the little barstards out lol.
