Had a couple of Durafly vampires. Absolutely loved the way they flew. I did add carbon fibre strips to the tailbooms. Also ended up stripping out the landing gear and hand launch. Nose-gear was always too delicate for our grass strip, even on a good landing. These do glide very well. Sometimes hard to get back on the ground. I used a 4 cell 3000 mah battery all the way forward. Awesome!

I have the v2 and love it. Repaired it after a tailboom separation. Remove the paint and poke a few holes in the foam with a toothpick! I only wish it had a 12 blade fan. 5 blade is LOUD!!!

A half day for me so home for lunch and.. A video from Petrincic Bros R.C Channel! What could be better? PERFECT! The pilot figure only comes out at night, or on Halloween. It's a VAMPIRE! Considering the reasonable price, this is excellent. It's quite a chunky plane, so it's fairly strong in it's natural structure, and that huge wing area takes care of business with the floaty glide. Yellow detail on camouflage does indeed make this look a bit German, Messerschmidt always had some yellow on thier planes. Maybe you could get a couple of Vampires going with Capt Alina on the camera, for Halloween? Spooky-dooky-doo! Big salute as ever from London. 🌟👍

@HciContractor I run an XRP 13b Rotor with a HET inrunner on 6s 4000 and it's awesome! I should have a video of it on my page. It needed a lot of carbon reinforcements to stay on one piece that's for sure haha! Cheers!

Landing a full sized Vampire 'wheels up' was a real thing! The Royal Navy were investigating landing jets onto an aircraft carrier and due to the higher speeds involved they thought that a 'rubber' landing deck was the way to go! Piloted by ace test pilot Eric 'Winkle' Brown, there were several flights made until it was realised that better arrester cables made the 'rubber' flight deck unnecessary. 'Winkle' was glad that they changed their minds as he hated putting his life in jeapody crashing onto the carrier!

I installed a 'major bird' pilot in mine. The jet pilot with the middle finger raised 😂. He might have a dodgy attitude but last I looked he was still flying the vampire well!😂

lucky to get spares from Hobby King - they never seem to have any - I am still waiting for my Pre Order from HobbyKing for the DH100 V3... looking forward to its arrival - it is very old school, in construction , but thats nice lots of gluing and not much screwing ! ! - LOL - Big RAF Salute from the UK - Thanks for the Unboxing - Yep WInter is coming - WInd and Rain stops Play .... Here in the UK....The only thing I would recommend and you do talk about it (shame they did not do it for this V3) is that I would add a light weight carbon rod into the booms where they glue onto the Wing.. this is a known weak point on all versions of this aircraft - a light weight strip of carbon gives it that little bit of extra strength...
