The fact that John always pulled off and succeeded in every single band and project that he created (Duran, Power Station, Neurotic Outsider) is a solid authentification that he is a talented versatile musician and genius mastermind. John is the heart, soul, and the spine of his band.

I've got all his solo albums, they're really pretty good. And his concerts when he was touring for his solo stint were great. Small venue's like the Coach House and occasionally he'd meet his fans afterwards, John is a very, very nice person.

kick ass song!!! John Taylor, showing is Grunge / Punk side, awsome. Nice video. The incredible 90´s for John solo projects. Yeah!!! I love to play this song on guitar and bass, it´s just full off fast, powerfull, energy.

He's a real good musician. I listened to most of his solo works and it's really good stuff! Of course the best thing he can do is being a Duran Duran, but let me tell you that his music is really nice. :)

@Killer Queen funny how you say that simon is the main reason DD sold million records cos the record company had different opinion about simon. Do you know that simon almost got kicked out by record company due to his incompetency as a singer? And dd was cut off by the record company because they couldnt sell any record after john left the band. So, that proves everything that john is the main reason behind dd's success
@lisat.73104 жыл бұрын
Well, I must say that I always thought that the band JT helped found, Duran Duran, did worse because he left. Could it be that that's why Simon personally went to John's place in LA? 🤔 Perhaps so.
@JOHNNYSGIRL19603 жыл бұрын
@@lisat.7310 Nick and Simon missed him desperately too because they know he's central to DD's success. They missed him and tried everything to no avail for about 5 yrs.
@lisat.73103 жыл бұрын
Everybody in the band knew their shit, 'ya know, it's just that, if you follow the history of the band, John was the most important element, so that's why Simon brought him back into the band when it was just him & Nick. John needs the band to be a hit, it's a given, but he's a success in that he, like all of the original 5, can do many things, how good, it's just a matter of degree. He seems to be able to do the most, but for some reason, he's also been pushed the most. Actually, I checked, & unless I'm remiss in something I haven't checked & factored in, Nick is the richest in the band. I think it's because Nick is somewhat a saver. (I mean, my God, he's hesitant to get that roof fixed!)

I think that if John's the richest member of Duran Duran, although the others have done their own independent work, it's obviously due to his incredible work ethic. He's rose to the occasion to meet the challenges people have placed on his shoulders outside Duran & been able to pull every single one of them off. He's also diversified his creative work itself. He's a very competent individual. So, you may be able to say some negative things, but they all have to be put in their proper context.

john is not big in lyric. his songs are more instrumental. this song has a great instrumental section; the guitar riff, the rhythm section, the bass it's really good arrangement. some of JT's song could have been a hit if they got more promotion and endorsed by big record company. too bad JT preferred to do it independently so his records didnt get much recognition. if this song was sang by nirvana it could have been a massive hit. JT may not born a singer but he has a nice tone of voice

the simple true
@JOHNNYSGIRL19603 жыл бұрын
And he got better with time so much so that when JT came back to DD he was able to harmonize better with Simon. John said he also took singing lessons after his first solo album and improved his skills.
@kingofnebula1995 жыл бұрын
@killer queen Simon may be a better vocalist than John, but John is much richer and millions of records that DD sold is due to John's creative talent and his distinctive basslines which is the selling point of their music not just Simon's voice. if you don't believe me, take into account what arcadia sold vs power station unquestionably PS sold more than arcadia and that is because of john's talent

mogznwaz true, most of druggie look like shit literally. they all have decaying teeth, bad acne prone skin, bad hygene and look a lot older than their age. i wouldnt guess john was a drug addict cos he's so beautiful and well off, except that he was so thin during a couple of years ago. but john is naturally thin

I have this cd as well and bought it as an import when it first came out, while John is a legend there is a reason why he is a backing singer in DD and this album highlighted that. Agree with everyone else "I am sad and I want my Dad" is some of the worst lyrics ever recorded.
