Just passed half way through the book now. Love reading about the early days of the lovely, young hopeful boy full of passion for music, feeling sad about the dark times, but very glad you managed to get through them and you are still here with us and the band. We love having you here. Be well and safe always!

i love how he's able to remove himself almost from the past & look at who that young man was & want to warn him about the dangers he may face, that he does face... he's quite reflective & in touch with his emotional side, which is something you rarely see in a man... it's refreshing & honest. i really am looking very forward to reading the book, it appears that he goes deeper into depth with his story than andy did in his book...

This book is incredibly depressing. I feel so sad for him. I had no idea how much he struggled with addiction. I am amazed he survived and am happy to see how happy and relaxed he seems now. Go John!

I haven't had the chance to read the entire book, but what I've read shows John to be an amazing writer. I became a fan at the age of 13 in '83 and grew with them. I saw something special in each of the band members, sometimes liking one over another, but John Taylor's exceptional bass playing won me over. Thanks, gentlemen for sharing your arts and now the process.

I don't really read books John . but I got your book as a Christmas Present after seeing my most fav band in November 2011 at the echo in Liverpool we had seats A16 and A17 and Roger gave me his sticks at the end of Rio your last number . Only just got round to reading it in lockdown .The best read ever and inspired me to write a story of my own band from the 80s . I used an Aria pro SB 1000 bass with that band cause you inspired me as a bass player and owe it to you I got into music.

@Barbara Nannucci yeah, Simon and Nick, too. It was heartbreaking. John was up on a pedestal in my book, as the tooo gorgeous therefore dangerous one.
@resa.walters3 жыл бұрын
@Barbara Nannucci You are referring to Simon, right? I remember us hearing about the Drum accident, and being really scared he wouldn't make it, but he did thank goodness. We heard he got married at that time. I was a little disappointed, but didn't really have ideas of even ever meeting him. I guess just being glad that he was okay softened the blow. If I could choose to marry one of them today, I'd choose John, hands down! ❤️

I just finished reading the book. It really was frightening at times. I have been a fan since 1984 when Arena was released (and soon catching up with the previous albums), I was 12. I had no idea he has been going through such hard times, well we all do, but he always looked so perfect to me... I had no clue. I also laughed quite a few times, and cried at the end of some particularly touching chapters. My review is not objective at all, as a fan I knew I'd enjoy the book.
