@@Juki.227 It's because of cocaine. John was at his lowest point at the time. He was frustrated because Duran's waning career, so he consumed more drugs as a form of self medication. I don't think John was devastated because of Renee. John says in his book he had to break up with Renee because Renee wanted to get married and have babies while John still wanted to focus on his band and get Duran back on top.
