Not one of Dave's best interviews, but certainly one of the best guests, Simon LeBon and Duran Duran were the Apex of the British pop '80s. Simon is so articulate and well spoken, what a beautiful message he gave regarding live aid and the true meaning behind it. So Red the Rose by Arcadia is an amazing album, everyone needs to listen to it.❤

The other albums are actually pretty bad with maybe a few specks of good songs. One, they hired Nile Rogers. Two, they let Simon Le Bon (who is a gay man, and who used women to be under the guise of being straight) take over the music style. It’s why a lot of their recent songs are so cheesy. It’s as if he’s got a target audience among gay young males…. read the lyrics of wild boys, which is an awful song and check out the book the wild boys. He still talks about his obliterated bum in concert ffs🙄.

Simon is so charming, well-spoken, intelligent, and respectful - ever the English gentleman - and dead-common-as-you-please Letterman dragging the conversation down into the gutter with the asinine “lardo” inanity. Simon was spot on saying Letterman was a bit slow. Le Bon giving Letterman the flack he’s been dishing out to his guests for years, and David not liking it one bit. Fabulous. (Just see Letterman's interview with Laurie Anderson for another cringe-worthy example of David's gross inadequacies with guests). Simon looking his usual debonaire, New Romantic / New Wave, avantgarde self. Fantastic! Love him in all black. And, indeed, Arcadia’s “So Red The Rose,” remains an unparalleled masterpiece, every song a gem.

there’s a video of Simon Le Bon, who turned 50 where he got a bunch of Elvis Presley records for a present. There is a card as well that calls him a queen. He is a gay man that used a beautiful model and her three daughters to be under the guise of being straight, but much of time, he would dance in a certain way to target a young gay male audience since the early 80s, ie, he would even do squats if you know what I mean. I will never listen to Duran Duran again after discovering two of them were g@y. And guess which is the other one. Google the video of Nick Rhodes and John Taylor on an elephant in Sri Lanka… that will tell you all you need to know

Eh, that's a bit false-ish. "Break up" is a term that does not fit Duran Duran. For one, the band very much obviously continued, which is something bands that "break up" don't do. Also, Roger and Andy both returned, Roger 'til this day. It was an end of an era where "all 5 being expected" ended, but calling that "breaking up" is inaccurate.
