Simon has said in past interviews that this song refers to how hungry they were to be the best band in the world, to be on top of the world. They were hungry like a wolf to dominate the music industry. And they certainly accomplished that goal in the 80’s.

I saw them in the early 00's at the Manchester Arena when the original line-up reformed for the first time for decades. I was 8 when this came out, and when I saw them, it was like an 80s school disco all over again. They were jumping around with the energy and enthusiasm of any 18 yo band in the chart of the time. I was amazing

Same. But to be honest, I enjoyed their concerts 2008 and 2012 much more. They were much more relaxed and had so much more fun just to make music and to perform on stage as at the times I saw them live, when they were big.

My son is 18 and creates new music because of his love of Duran Duran and watching the guys chatting with him last year was the highlight of my life. Yes 1984 was the best year for the band. It was the peak of Duran Duran mania that started around 1982. By 1985 they were still at the top with A View to a Kill but the divisions began that same year, when Power Station and Arcadia were formed and the eventual departure of Roger and Andy.

It's so fun seeing these memories pop up in my feed from time to time. I remember buying "Arena" on VHS and what a pain it was to find it, order it, pay for it...all old school and snail mail.
