People seem very confused. The ST is a twin turbo eco v6 and with a tune and air intake and exhaust and good tires. Makes 400 hrp easy and can compete with any sport suvs. People really be forgetting what a tune and a good driver can do.

Yes it makes 400hp but the Durango hellcat is 710hp stock. The Explorer only one that race because the Durango had a bad start, probably was trying to use launch control and couldn’t get it to work. As it’s next pass it ran 11.7 that same night

I've got a 22 ST. Intercooler and ethanol tune and I'm probably just under 600hp. That with AWD make a surprisingly quick SUV. 🤙🏼

I'm by no means a Dodge fan boy , I own a Chevy Camaro and a Ford Ranger . But I don't really care how fast the new Exploder is , it's wrong wheel drive . And 400 horsepower in a SUV that weighs as much as it does isn't all that much . In fact that's pretty close to the same power-to-weight ratio as my 2003 Ford Ranger .

I love all the comments claiming various issues like the Durango driver was asleep or screwed launch. I have an ST, the instant low rpm torque the turbo setup provides is what gives the edge over naturally aspirated engines. You simply launch faster with a more consistent power curve.

@@P0w3rsl4v3 I agree, and honestly the reason why he didn't catch up cause to me the driver behind the Durango seemed very incompetent, if the drivers would've switched the Durango wouldve gapped the ST hard right after the launch phase, but since he slept and had horrible reaction times he made it into a close race he lost. I just bought a new ST, and my wife scared herself out on the road. 😂 She didn't realize how much power it has! We love it! I can't wait to add more HP. Don't get me wrong, 400 hp and over 415 ft of torque is pretty good, but I'm hp greedy.

Two different explorers on two different dates. First race was from last night but the rest of the night that Durango beat that explorer, it ran an 11.7 on its next pass. Second video is from last year, different explorer all together and was definitely modded. A stock hellcat Durango does 11.7

Well, if the Durango beat the Explorer the rest of the night, why post the video where he screwed his start and didn't even get his time posted? Obviously, if the Durango is running consistently 11.7, he's gonna beat the Explorer who ran a 12.26. Now, the second video with that other Explorer is impressive, getting a 11.4 out of that, he's definitely far from stock and either has upgraded turbos or has the boost turned up much higher than a stock one, which if you're gonna do that and NOT blow your engine, takes quite a bit of after market parts to do that. You gotta open up the exhaust to let the turbos breathe, upgrade your injectors, fuel and oil pumps, bigger manifold, high-end spark plugs, and that's just for starters. Gotta make sure everything can feed, handle, and support turning that boost up on those turbos. I'm a Ford guy, though, so it was nice to see it win, even if the first race was a fluke. I really thought the Durango was gonna get it. That thing is just a beast on wheels. I myself am looking into getting a Ford Edge ST. I know it's not as powerful as the Explorer ST, but it's still a fun SUV to have, regardless.

3.0 twin turbocharged. Stock is 400 hp and 415 torque. I have one and it’s a ton of fun. With a larger intercooler and a good 93 tune you can jump the HP and torque 100+.
